The room with the jacuzzi has very nice view out the balcony, spacious and comfortable! The hotel is situated conveniently across a shop, few steps away from the starting point of the hike to the lake and also the tourist center.

It felt a bit unloved - a curtain wasn’t fitted properly and some of the furnishings/decor was tired. Could have been a lot better with a little bit of effort put in to sprucing it up. There were neighbours close by to the bedroom who stayed up late socialising meaning we had to sleep with the windows closed - and there was no fan so the room was hot. The major issue for us , however, was that we were charged an extra $85 for a second person using the apartment - the issue was only brought up after we’d booked in, been shown the room, had unpacked and had a shower - ie too late to go anywhere else. The problem had been with booking.com who had listed the property in results for a search that was for accommodation for two then told the property it was a booking for one. Booking.com were dreadful at dealing with my complaints- I just got a robot reply. So overall we felt let down by booking.com and the owners which made our stay less enjoyable than it could have been

The apartment had a nice veranda overlooking a river and felt cosy. It was set back off the street. Good location in the centre of town with two supermarkets very near.

I wasn't expecting the sauna to be paid for but I understand that if it is known to be busy, how important it may be to book in advance.

The pool was great, it was just us when we visited in the late afternoon.

It was close to the train station and I was able to walk to the Oechinessee hike. It has gorgeous views of Kandersteg and is right in the middle of town! Staff was friendly.

Not free parking Helicopter noises in the city and roadworks but this is due to the location at the center of Kandersteg

Very nice staff, we were upgraded by chance to a room with jacuzzi. Very nice room, a lot of space. With a little fridge for our sandwiches. Very good location to start long walk to the Oeschinen Lake (or take the cable car) Nice and quiet indoor/outdoor pool

There are many flies, in the room and the restaurant. But understand it’s difficult to control

Location is excellent. 5min walk from Kandersteg station. Great food at the restaurant, and amazing pool and sauna. The staffs were incredibly kind and friendly.

We had a great view from our room (with balcony) of the mountains. The room was spacious with a desk and chair, sofa and closet. The gentleman who checked us in patiently helped us out with parking since we had trouble with the parking app. The restaurant downstairs was excellent for dinner. There is a market across the street and another around the corner with fresh bread in the mornings. The walk up to the Oeschinensee gondola was easy from the property, and they gave us a pass for a discount. We took the train through the Lotschberg tunnel which was close by. Would love to come back and spend more time in Kandersteg. and would definitely stay here again.
