Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SwitzerlandThe property was so fresh and very cute. Super comfortable bed and pillows. The attention to details in the whole hotel is really amazing. We traveled with our little dog and she was also made to feel very welcome. The staff is very friendly and an extra plus was the cow-museum with workshop. Restaurants are also good!

SwitzerlandBranding is everywhere and you feel like part of a marketing funnel. Erlebnis should be free for guests (it is half price), the idea inside is good but the execution feels like upselling. However, for the kids everything was perfect, they liked painting their Trauffer cow. For the parents, it feels like the place tries to extract money at every step.
Style of the hotel and rooms is strong and unique, like a branded steakhouse with gray concrete, black metal and beige wood. Different and interesting for a short stay. Our kids loved the double-decker bed. There are sockets everywhere, all necessary appliances, and the "mini bar" is actually a "big bar" located in the lounge area. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast looked small at first but offered a high-quality variety of cheeses, cold cuts and fresh bread, freshly made eggs, and more. The Alfredo restaurant served very good meat dishes, everyone at our table enjoyed it, kids included. The hotel is very kid-friendly. Lockers are available near the reception to securely store your backpack or luggage if you arrive before check-in time. The decoration throughout the entire hotel and restaurant is filled with well-matched details and carefully selected items. Even the wooden radio in the public restrooms fits the overall concept perfectly. We liked the whole experience and can definitely recommend this place as a base for visiting the Ballenberg open-air museum or taking a lake ride.

SwitzerlandThe location is a beautiful location in the countryside, surrounded by farmland. And right down the street from the Ballenburg living museum. Breakfast on the terrace was wonderful even on a cool foggy morning. Food was very good and fresh. The rooms are quite unique but comfortable. We only stayed for one night and was unable to take advantage of everything. Parking fills up so if it is important to be in the garage, make the reservation with the room.

United StatesWe visited in late June, so it was hot. Unfortunately our room did not have a/c, so it was a little uncomfortable to sleep at night.
This is a very unique hotel in a great location. The restaurant was impressive and we loved the small stores and food vendors in the lobby/common space.

United Statesoverpriced at $400/ night for a small queen room + kids bunk: not even AC in the room. Also no pool, no gym, no spa, no hair conditioner in the shower (just cheap soap). No child lock on the shower which runs very hot water. Lots of flies in the indoors cafe. Breakfast included; good but again very basic for $400/night.
Nice outdoor terrace and kids playground. Underground parking. Nice museum and village around to explore

SwitzerlandThe hotel is quite expensive. For the high price you receive very spartan small space without a wardrobe, fridge or mini-bar, no terrace or balcony (tiny one with wooden vertical sticks, that look nice only from outside, but you have no view or pleasant space to sit inside). Instead of mini-bar they offer common space with a coffee machine and refrigerator for all people in the hotel as in a student hostel. They say, that it saves energy, but keep in mind that the price of the hotel is quite high. Why you save the money, that I paid for my own comfort? But the most disappointing part is that even the people who live in the hotel should pay for the entrance to the "museum" as well as people from the street. They offer a discount, but inside the museum you should pay the whole price for different children activities (e.g.painting of wooden toys).
The location is quiet and nice not far from the picturesque Brienz. Modern building near the local small village, interesting concept of "museum" together with hotel.

It was surrounded by beautiful mountains. It was super clean. Very friendly staff. Loved the crafted wooden cows. Food was delicious. Everything was amazing. My kids loved it. We will definitely stay here again. Small present (wooden cows) was also amazing. Loved everything about the hotel. Highly recommended
