There is no air conditioning. They did provide a humongous fan in the closet which we needed to use because it was 30° here mid August. Also, this is an alcohol free hotel. I do not drink alcohol, but my companions do. We haven’t heard It wasn’t a problem though for us. It would’ve been nice to have known this information though. I don’t recall seeing it anywhere in the descriptions. That could be my fault though for not paying attention

The hot water in the shower stopped out of nowhere. Despite raising the issue the next morning, no solution was given.

The noise from the street and some people did religious music starting from 07:30 a.m. which was also a bit over a normal noise level.

I enjoyed my stay at Bellevue au Lac! The room was very spacious and comfortable! The staff was very friendly and helpful! They assisted me with getting around town to some wonderful sites! The lake and surroundings were absolutely spectacular! Beautiful views of the lake and mountains! The lake was perfect for swimming! It was great to have lake access provided by the hotel! Breakfast and dinner at the hotel was so delicious! The promenade along the lake was amazingly beautiful! Downtown Thun was only a short bus ride down the road. But if you enjoy walking, the half hour or so stroll along the lake is well worth your time! And last but not least, don't forget to visit the wonderful castle right downtown!

- The lift was out of order for a full week which made life difficult for elderly guests on the upper floors - Electric equipment (lamps) was not functioning, attempts to repair it did not really work - Staff several times did not understand food / drink orders and brought wrong items - Room was not made up until 4 pm and one had to ask to accelerate room cleaning

Choose a room with lake view, you will see the glaciers of Blümlisalp and mount Niesen overlooking the lake - Private bathing pier directly in front of the hotel, extremely clear water - Excellent food - Zero alcohol hotel - Bus stop Hilterfingen Kirche just outside of the hotel, bus line 21 servicing Interlaken and Thun so you do not need a car for sightseeing - Ferry stop Hilterfingen 5 minutes by foot on the lake promenade

They recently changed owners and the hotel does not serve alcohol, which is a shame as the hotel is on the lake and has a beautiful terrace, where people come for food and wine or just for a drink. I doubt they had many bookings in the restaurant over the holidays, and my mother and I were the only patrons in the restaurant which was weird and uncomfortable (the Italian restaurant accross the street was packed).

I got upgraded to a suite although I booked a single room (the hotel was almost empty). Very nice room!

Basically everything! We made nice calm walks after dinner down by the lake. The location is perfect for trips to Grindelwald and other great view points. The city itself is also comfortable and there are enough tasty restaurants to choose from. We will definitely come back some day!!!

The hotel offered a large room with a privileged view of the lake. The breakfast buffet is delicious and served in a wonderful hall with breathtaking views of the lake. Highly recommend for those looking for a calm location to rest.

Room was a bit small and it was quite warm inside. While opening the windows to get some fresh air, you would then hear the noise from the road.

Friendly staff, enough space to park the car, amazing view on the lake and the mountains. The restaurant is just in front of the lake and the food is good. You can go for a short walk along the lake directly from the hotel. I highly recommend that hotel
