We had another friend who tried to book this same property on Booking.com and was not successful. We were all together when we booked months earlier and she was not given a confirmation number and was forced to book away from us at another hotel. When we checked in, she was with us and was made to feel like she had done something wrong. There was a problem between Booking.com and this property and it was NOT her responsibility. This part was unfortunate because we’d’ve preferred to be staying under one roof, but without a confirmation—similar to what we got—she had already made other arrangements. The person at check in didn’t seem to believe her. Meanwhile Emma was left with an empty room. Maybe consider booking directly and not through Booking.com?

We found this property to be exactly what we wanted - centrally located, tastefully appointed and comfortable room, and quiet. Everything and more! I only wish the bistro had been open on the morning of our departure so we could’ve enjoyed that!

This stay was for my wife for her birthday; the following is her review. a gorgeous room right in the centre of lovely Winterthur. Superbly clean, very friendly staff and such a comfy bed. The price is a true bargain for Switzerland considering the central location and generous size of the room. Loved the inclusions such and a small fridge, bathtub, and tea/coffee making items. They even left me a little cake with candle and card for my birthday. Lush garden views and everything at your doorstep.

Room #3 is an attic, so not necessarily a good idea if you are tall. The bed is not next to the wall and there is no headboard so reading in bed is difficult. Be very careful if you use the safe, which is awkwardly tucked away under a very low shelf in a corner and thus difficult to operate. We could not open it back alone.

Stairs quite narrow when negotiating with suitcase. There was a small fridge in tge room but I am not sure it was working?

Perfect location. Attractive house. Extremely quiet, rooms look out on garden. Very spacious with large bathroom too. Comfortable large bed and tasteful decor. The key safe systrm for late arrival seemed complicated but worked well. Lovely popular bistro on site and kettle, (herbal) tea and and crockery in the room.

Potential guests might like to be aware that other than the small cafe which is part of the B&B, there's not a reception or lobby area. The staff leave the premises by 19h00, but take great care to ensure guests understand how to access the rooms after hours. This arrangement worked fine for me, but it may not suit every traveller's preference.

I stayed in the garden room which was quite simple but lovely, with private access to a beautiful green garden with several places to sit. Though the B&B is in the middle of the old town, the room was blissfully quiet, even when the garden doors and windows were open. Room had a small fridge, kettle with tea/coffee, and plates and cutlery for 2, plus a small table and 2 chairs - so one could easily bring in food and be able to eat in comfort. The staff were super-friendly and helpful, and I'd definitely stay again if the opportunity arises. BTW, the cheesecake in their cafe is heavenly!

Unfortunately the restaurant was closed for the holiday, but the menu looked great. Building was old, but bedrooms and bathrooms were up to date. Nice location in the heart of Winterthur.

There was no a/c. There was no notification that the ceiling was a shaped and my husband is quite tall.

The room was spacious and there was a hot water kettle with tea and coffee.

Excellent location on a beautiful street filled with cafes and restaurants. On the other side of the building it is peaceful with lots of trees. I wasn’t expecting a fridge in the room, or a kettle with coffee and tea. This was wonderful. The place was clean and everyone was friendly. This is probably the best place I have ever stayed at. Thank you!
