The half board meal at the restaurant was superb! Room/bed was comfortable and clean. Out of the main town but easy to access by the (free) bus.

The beautiful view and attentive staff made our stay enjoyable. The bus connection made it easy to explore the area, as we parked our car and used the buses to get around.

The one thing that surprised me was that, although the hotel’s website mentions that guests can get toothbrushes and toothpaste free of charge at the reception, we were charged CHF 2.5 when we asked for toothpaste. Not really a complaint, as we would have bought it anyway, but it was a bit different from what was stated online.

We had a really pleasant stay at this hotel. The location is very convenient, right beside the bus stop and only about 15 minutes by bus from Luzern train station. The rooms were clean, spacious, and well-ventilated, making the stay very comfortable. The backyard was a lovely surprise, with a few farm animals that my daughter absolutely enjoyed. Breakfast was simple but very nice, with coffee and eggs freshly made to order. The cheeses served at breakfast were absolutely delicious, we didn’t have such cheeses during the rest of our trip or at any of the other hotels we stayed in. Bathrooms were spotless and stocked with toiletries, which added to the comfort. The staff were warm and friendly throughout, and we appreciated the thoughtful gesture of the manager/owner giving us free water bottles for our onward journey at checkout. The hotel also has plenty of booklets about nearby attractions, don’t hesitate to pick one up or ask, as it’s a nice way to plan your day.

The restaurant was very upmarket which was odd in a 3 star hotel, would have been great if we were able to just get normal dinner foods. The shower door did not fully seal and everytime you shower it was unavoidable that water went everywhere.

Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Especially the lady who checked us in (sorry did not catch the name). Breakfast was great, location to bus stop into luzern was good and very close by.

However, there were four things that disappointed me: 1) the room had no air conditioning and It was one of those rooms at the top , very hot 2) very noisy during the night. You can hear the cars (the hotel is located in a main road) and people screaming (night life) 3) there was no mini fridge, although the staff kindly offered a bucket with ice, not very convenient 4) the bed was uncomfortable, very hot, i could feel lots of lumps in the mattress

Lack of AC or cooling system in the summer

Room was a bit hot, with only a (very powerful) fan, and streetside room was not ideal for opening the window. But: earplugs helped and bed was very nice.

A small car- ot bus ride (free public transport ticket!) from Lucern, hotel Balm was a very nice place to stay for the two nights we were there. Comfy beds, great breakfast (with a view), free parking with charging option gor our electric car not two minutes away. Very nice restaurant (you can choose between fancy and bistro menu) and very helpful and friendly staff who brought us drinks at the poolside.

Things seemed limited due to a holiday, maybe. No tea or coffee making facilities. No fridge. No iron. Breakfast was very basic, but what was on offer was tasty and staff were nice.

The room could be equipped with USB charging points and air conditioning as having the windows open as hot allowed bugs to get in.

The breakfast was excellent, with lovely fresh fresh fruit, pastries and home made jam. The swimming pool was nice and in a scenic location. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Expected a balcony. Was told I needed to request this direct with hotel. Would suggest you state this in booking details. This was disappointing and we would have enjoyed the views

Lovely large room with sitting area and luxurious bathroom. Beds comfy and two fans which were quiet. Breakfast was amazing. So much choice and freshly cooked eggs. Great to have a pool and enjoyed swimming in rain.
