How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

We had a great & lovely stay at B&Borgo. The staff (family managed) was very nice and friendly, the room was very cosy and bathroom (which is outside the bedroom and therefore shared with another room) was sparklingly clean. Breakfast which was included in our stay was very complete and delicious. We will definitely come back in our next stay in Ascona!

Everything about B&Borgo is top notch! Property has fantastic interior and great concept of the common areas, beds were super comfy and despite being very central - it is surrounded by quiet streets adding cosines to this place. It is great mix of hotel and making you feel like home.

the only thing i would recommend is to have earplugs in case you are sensitive with noise with you - one night the adjacent bar was busy until after midnight and in the morning it can get noisy from people enjoying breakfast outside below the rooms
wonderful place and will definitely be back. Beautiful room, very clean, lovely host family who are very accommodating, clean shared bathroom

The design of the place was very chic. located very centrally, it was easy to walk around. the staff were all friendly and helpful. The breakfast spread was also delicious cured meats, cheeses, pastries, and the honey was particularly exceptional.

the shared bathroom for showering was occupied quite some time in the morning.. but otherwise all was perfect!

Our stay at B&Borrgö was very pleasant and quiet. The whole building was very well done with nice furnishing with many being a mixture of antique furniture and more modern accessories. Centrally located for a short walk to the waterfront and transportation stations. The breakfast was beautifully displayed with a lot of choices. It was a pleasure to talk to the Innkeeper who spoke very good English. We would stay here again and highly recommend the innkeeper and the B&B. Thank you very much; Andi & Geneviève Kaufmann with friends 👍🌞👍

We loved our stay in B&B Borgo ! Ulysse was amazing ! The room is perfect, so cozy and well designed. The localisation is amazing 3min walking distance from the lake and 8min from a great parking. Thank you so much ! We will come back !

Nothing. It was perfect.
Beautifully decorated and clean place to stay with a great host. It was in the centre of town but amazingly quite. We had two rooms and shared a bathroom which worked out very well.

Amazing, super friendly host, extremely clean room as well bathroom, which was shared with guests from 1 other room. Nice breakfast with all you need, cool wine bar with reasonable prices, fridge with cheap drinks. Nice outside seating area, well decorated main area. Definitively best price/value. We will come back :-)

Some other guests were super noizy in the common area, which was unfortunately hearable in our room.
The host was super friendly and welcoming. The shared bathroom was super spacious and clean. The breakfast was a very delicious buffet.
