The crane that was obstructing the view of the Matterhorn but there was nothing you could do about that

It had a great view and we loved the pool and hot tub. The breakfast and service was fantastic.

Walls are thin and noise from surrounding rooms is fairly intrusive. Laundry is expensive at 20 franks.

Quick access to town via the Schöenegg tunnel. Clean rooms and facilities. Good breakfast. Friendly and accommodating stafff.

Missing a fridge in the room

Great location in the centre with tunnel/elevator to the hotel. Nice views over the city and Matterhorn. Rooms are clean and well proportioned. Pool and breakfast works really well. And staff are friendly throughout.

everything was perfect. The bartender deserve special praise also. She was extremely nice.

I almost overslept and missed my train. The morning manager saved my life. He knocked on my door and personally drove me to the train station just in time. I can’t thank him enough. All of the staff were wonderful, including the front desk, receptionist, but the manager who took me to the train saved my trip. I am eternally grateful.

The lift to and from the train station was great. The lift access during the stay was fantastic. Lovely staff. Great location. Would stay here again.

The pillow was a little uncomfortable but the room was very quiet. The bathroom would be easier to enter if the door opened out.

The hotel was great value for money, with a pool, sauna, steam bath, and jacuzzi. The tunnel to reach the town centre was also great. It was also nice to have the same table each day for breakfast.

Stunning hotel, very clean and very classically alpine. Friendly staff, great breakfast and the pool and thermal area was amazing. Free transfer to and from the railway station. But the view, wow. The Matterhorn from breakfast, bar and pool. Amazing hotel.

No fridge in the room. With eating out in Zermatt being very expensive, it would have been nice to have a fridge to store some snacks and drinks. Not a deal-breaker, though.

Great room set-up for a family of four. The balcony was nice to have. There was a construction crane partially obstructing the view; however, we didn't mind as the hotel informed us in advance. Breakfast was acceptable, however, the only hot food was a station to boil eggs. Great pool and jacuzzi area.

Clean.Location. Although quite a walk but they have a special route to keep the distance less cumbersome ! Have shuttle to pick you up and transport you back to the train station .

There is a crane currently (July 2025) blocking the perfect view of the Matterhorn but they let us know in advance and it wasn't really a big deal.

The Appenroyal was a great hotel in Zermatt. The staff was helpful and the hotel was clean. The standard room was very small but we also had the family suite and it was amazing. The breakfast was good and they packed us lunch to go instead of breakfast for the last morning when we had to catch a very early Glacier Express train. The hotel has elevator access to the a tunnel very close to the center of town so it was easy to get around. They picked us up from the train station in the Electric Shuttle. The indoor pool & hot tub was nice after our adventure at Gonergrat. Overall a great stay.

Absolutely no facilities in the room , like the water kettle and the cutlery. The sofa cum bed was not upto the mark .

The location , the staff , communication with Monica and Barbara was very good . The cleanliness was well maintained.
