Problems with the infrastructure

There was one guy somehow "living" in the kitchen of this house, days and nights (sleeping there), and this was not really nice for privacy, even if this is a shared kitchen. this was not a cheap offer. Also no air conditionner! it was hot in Vancouver when we were there...

Good situation close enough to downtown, quiet area, nice house, no issues to park the car around.

Everything was great. Because we travelled during the summer, it was too hot sometimes.

No contact with owners during the stay. Some unusual house rules (eg take off shoes on entry and wear plastic flip flops around the home). Seemed to be predominately geared towards receiving young Chinese people with different cultural outlooks, eg most other guests we encountered were not willing or were not able to communicate with us, often not even acknowledging our presence in shared spaces.

Nice quiet suburban location, only a few minutes walk to public transport and local shops. A long term guest at the property was very helpful both interns of explaining the house arrangements and in giving some pointers on where local shops and public transport were located. It was good that we chose a room with rn suite bathroom, as we saw other guests queuing for the shared bathroom at times. Easy access to washing machine and dryer was very useful.

The bathroom was a bit old and not very clean in my opinion, and the room was a bit small.

Nice house in cozy neighborhood. The room was clean, we also had the possibility of using the laundry which is a strong plus. I had the possibility to leave my luggage in the common room after checkout which I appreciated a lot. Check-in procedure was perfect. I liked that there are insect screens on all windows so you can sleep with the window open in a chilled summer night, which is perfect.

Service dog aren’t allowed to bark., I brought my service dog with me, and there are few times that he is being protective, alerting me that there was a person outside, usually bark once then after I tell him to stop and that it is okay, he’ll stop right away, he is not the type to consistently bark nonstop and is well behave. I felt like the place is same as staying in library.

The room was clean, place is just 20-30mins away from downtown. We were able to sleep properly, bed are comfortable.

Clean and good value, especially compared to the other similar properties in Vancouver. We are returning for a second time next week.

En-suite bathroom is getting a bit outdated but is fine for a few days. The kitchen could do with some more equipment, a few more knives and I would have expected there to be a cooking oil and some tea bags available. I had an issue with locking the main door. When I messaged the listed number pretty extensively, all I got back was an 'ok'... I felt like that could have been better.

I enjoyed my stay in this east-Vancouver guest house! It's a beautiful suburban area not far from a lovely bakery to have breakfast at (To Live For bakery). Should you need it, there is a possibility to do your laundry there.
