This cottage is wonderful—so many artistic and fun touches and so many charming features. Even the teenagers were in awe of it. The hostess and her cat were both lovely. We got many great tips about local restaurants which we thankfully followed and ate some of the best food of our trip. And we loved hanging at the cottage and hoping the cat would come along. What a treasure!

A very clean and cosy cottage to relax in and enjoy; perfect for winter evenings. Plenty of incredible treats and fresh bread provided which we didn't expect from a wonderfully welcoming and thoughtful host!

Very central location on Salt Spring Island. The host was extremely nice and her cat Oreo was very friendly, as well. The host baked us a welcome cake that was very good. Breakfast was fully stocked for self serve. We really enjoyed the cottage.

We loved absolutely everything about the cottage, from its pristine condition, stocked fridge and pantry, to, of course, our most hospitable host. My husband and I were travelling with my retired mother, and it took her all of five minutes into settling in before she claimed she never wanted to leave! I cannot recommend this cottage enough. And Pauline’s baking is to die for!!!

The lot was cluttered

The house was clean, cozy and with fresh flowers spread all over the well designed house. Great snacks and good breakfast with several choices. The staff were considerate and fun. Location was conveniently central to island.

We had a great trip. Our host was having some trouble with her internet, so the wifi was not great, but that was fine. We were there to relax and enjoy Salt Spring, not spend time online.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Thistle Dew Cottage. The location was ideal for us. Close enough to Ganges to walk there, easy access to the north end of the island, parks, and beaches. The stocked refrigerator was so nice and the freshly baked blackberry-apply pie was absolutely amazing.

The cabin was very cute and comfortable! Pauline was lovely and made sure we had everything we needed. The beds were comfy and we slept well, and it was an additional pleasant surprise to find the the kitchen so well stocked with breakfast items plus more. We'd definitely be back.

The setting was perfect, a cozy cottage with fresh flowers in every room. Pauline, the host, was as thoughtful as could be. She took an interest in our13 yr old grand daughter, and shared her baking secrets. Her knowledge of the island and what to see was valuable

Just spent 3 lovely days in the charming Thistle Dew Cottage which is nestled in the trees but has an abundance of sunlight due to all the windows. Pauline provides lots of personal touches such as fresh flowers in all the rooms, home made bread and pie and gave us great suggestions as to the local area. Easy walk to Salt Spring Wild Cider which we enjoyed so much we went back the next evening for dinner! Looking forward to a return visit

Liked its location, the way it was set-up, the architecture, the way the host put out fresh snacks anticipating our arrival, and greeted us, and answered questions, etc. They were knowledgeable about the location AND they even gave us an annotated map with helpful details including her phone number in case we had questions.

The yard has a collection of things that probably should be taken to the local dump. It does not in any way interfere with the interior, but it is a bit of an eyesore looking out.

There was a lovely selection of fresh fruit waiting for us on arrival, and the fridge had things like milk, cream, juice and eggs. The pantry had a collection of useful items including canned soup and other packaged goods. You could easily make breakfast and lunch with the supplies on hand if you did not want to venture out. The cottage is quaint with a generous sized bathroom. The beds were comfortable. It is very much a cottage, not a hotel, with lots of personal touches and objects throughout. The cidery restaurant is within walking distance, and the path will take you into Ganges if you want to get some exercise by bike or on foot.

I only wish I could give this place more than a 10.

The Cottage was fantastic, just what I needed for my solo visit to Salt Spring Island. Well equipped with essential food and snacks and washing equipment, which was very handy for me as I biked from Victoria and packed light. The bed was so comfy and the cottage has a real charm to it, the photos don't do it justice! Location is great for Ganges and there are some nice trails nearby. The Salt Spring Wild Cider house is on the doorstep and a visit here is a must. The food and cider are amazing. The owner Pauline is one of the loveliest people I have ever met, a true Canadian gem! Her life story is amazing, she is a mine of information and she goes well out of her way for people. I really hope to be back some day soon!
