Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandVery large and comfortable room. Also very quiet despite being beside a pretty busy road. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Facilities were excellent - use of kitchen allowed, lots of fridge space and ample tea/coffee was available.

United StatesAs others have mentioned, “private bathroom” should be clarified in the listing. Technically, it is private as it’s assigned to an individual room, however, it is not an en-suite bathroom, but rather outside of the room and down a short hallway. We stayed two nights and no housekeeping was included (not a big issue but would have been nice to have had this communicated to us). Communal Miele coffee machine is nice, and intuitive, but the first morning had us running back and forth to the kitchen to fill water, empty tray, fill beans, descale machine… recommend at a minimum that water and beans are filled in the evening, we were up early and the first ones to use it that day.
Great location, no issues with on street parking, comfortable bed/linens, nice gift card to local cafe for breakfast, great communication. Very nice common areas.

PortugalThe pleace would need a bit of love to make a bit more cosy (a few rugs, pillows and frames on the walls would do the trick).
Great location and such a beautiful place to rest! Had some of my best sleep at the Copeland.

CanadaWould recommend that fans are left in the room so if the room feels too warm during the night, the comfort of the fan is easily on hand.
The gift card in lieu of the on property breakfast to DOSE COFFEE was nice to have.

United KingdomImmaculate inside, but is in need of updating the exterior. I’m sure it’ll be done soon enough.
Everything really. Its location is absolutely excellent. Less than a 90 second stroll and you’re in the heart of downtown Revelstoke.

United KingdomWe were treated to a warm welcome by Connor at The Copland. The entire property was beautifully decorated and the downstairs lounge area was a great place to relax with a drink after a long day. Our bedroom was large with a sumptuous bed, comfortable sitting area, balcony and large well equipped bathroom. Great location in Revelstoke with shops, bars and restaurants within easy walking distance. The Dose payment cards were a great bonus and allowed us to breakfast like kings at the Dose Cafe. We absolutely loved our stay at The Copeland.

CanadaI thought the house could have a few lights on for the evening. I came back to the house at midnite and it was difficult to use the door pad as it was so dark out. I felt a little insecure.
I thought the gift cards for Dose Coffee was a great idea. Location was perfect. So close to shops.

CanadaNot really a dislike, but something of a turn off. The air conditioning was centrally controlled and other guests preferred it off on one of the hottest nights of the year. Thanks to the host who graciously and very promptly dropped off a fan at our request.
Ideal location in the heart of town. Very quiet and peaceful. Very close to some nice cafes and restaurants. Plenty of street parking and very safe. We loved the house and the room was very cozy and nicely kept. Exceptionally clean as well. Bathroom had good quality shampoo and conditioner which is rare for B&Bs. We visited in early August and there were fewer guests and no breakfast in house. We appreciate the hosts leaving us gift cards of the nearby cafe, which had an amazing choice of food and beverages.

AustraliaUnable to control the temperature in the room as the air conditioning system was connected to the whole floor.
The heritage feel and significance of the building. The king size bed and pillows were very comfortable. Being able to use the kitchen to cook meals. Being able to walk to the Main Street of town.

United KingdomThe only thing that could be improved is to have an en-suit but the private bathroom we had was very clean and comfortable.
My Husband and I loved everything about the Copeland (other than the bathroom being separate). The bedding was the best we had on our 5 week Canadian tour. We adored having a room that had a balcony with beautiful wicker rocking chairs and a view up the street. We particularly loved sitting on the balcony and listening to live music. The breakfast voucher was used for a really delicious breakfast at the cafe, Dose - we enjoyed having such a great menu that wasn't full of sugar and cream. The Host made us very welcome and we loved hearing about the renovation of the house - it is a really beautiful house. Thank You - we hope to return one day.

GermanyThe hotel floor can be a bit noise with other guests so we recommend to wear ear plugs at night. A/C can only be regulated for the whole floor but these things are just minor to us. We loved the stay!
Awesome Hotel with a lovely host (Conner). Very detailed furniture and we just loved the style of the common area as well as our hotel room. The house belonged to the first mayor or Revelstoke and they did a good job keeping the traditional atmosphere and mixing it with modern style elements. We received a 30$ Gift Card per person for the Dose Café in town (which we absolutely loved - try the French Toast) and had a nice time at the hotel. The shared bathroom we had for ourselves because there was only one other couple in the hotel.
