How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Thought it could have had a tv in the room and less personal belongings. Maybe access to coffee in the morning.
The room was nice and clean. Bathroom was modern and clean. David was most welcoming.

Got an upgrade from double beds room to queen, not sure if it actually was. The upstairs bedroom was often too warm, with the AC frequently set at 24°C. Despite requesting a lower temperature on at least two occasions, the issue persisted. One night, I had to sleep with the window open to manage the heat. Additionally, there were occasional disruptions — particularly at night — due to noise in the living area, as the host was working and taking super long calls, loudly, near the dining space during late hours. A more consistent quiet environment and better climate control would greatly enhance the guest experience.
The property offered a welcoming and comfortable experience. I particularly appreciated the friendly cats and the peaceful outdoor space — the patio was a great spot to relax. The home was well-equipped with a wide variety of kitchen utensils, making meal preparation easy. I also felt secure thanks to the coded locks on both the bedroom doors and the main gate, which added an extra layer of privacy and safety.

The property was booked by mistake and hoping for refund and requested to waive cancellation fees due to false advertisement or misleading ads. Booked with my family at hotel but instead this is a house and was not expecting any of it. The property owner did not even reply to my message nor view my message for cancellation and ask professionally for misunderstanding but was fall on deaf ears.

The owner was racist towards my husband and allows drug addicts to reside there as they pay monthly. The house is shared with renters and the owner, no privacy and extremely uncomfortable environment

The house we stayed in was very quiet. Had full use of the kitchen, laundry, etc. Owners were very accommodating and friendly. Very nice and peaceful atmosphere and neighborhood. Would definitely stay again.

Night table lamp didn't work. less water from shower head and 2/3 at tap Could use waste 🗑 bin in bathroom. Bathroom smells very good and clean. Bathtub very clean no mold.
Room was clean and sheets smelled fresh and clean. Got phone charger and extra heat.

I want a refund as there was no mention that their was a lot of stairs and not not made for ppl that are physically disabled
I couldn't stay here cause I'm disabled and couldn't do the 2 large flights of stairs. No where in the description did it say there was stairs or was someone's home. I want my money back as he told me I couldn't stay cause I was disabled and in a wheelchair . This is discrimination

I did not go to this place after booking it because it is advertised as a business when it is actually someone's home. If I wanted a room to rent in a resident I would have used another App

The host might consider removing the personal items in the drawers
The deep bath tub was great! I also loved the comfy queen sized bed! It was also nice to have a code to open the main door, and a separate code to enter the bedroom. I feel very safe here
