How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Very little maybe an oven could be provided for cooking frozen food.
Apartment was ideal for the 2 of us, clean, facilities ideal for light meals. Also excellent communications with host.. Plenty of provisions teas, coffee pods, washing materials provided.

It was fine, no dislikes.
Very cozy and comfortable. We did not experience any problems. The washer and dryer was a bonus. The owner was very helpful and addressed any questions we had.

Not much mentionable, however a privacy screen on the kitchen door and a mirror as a vanity would be a good addition.

It is located on a very busy street. Our hosts recommend backing into the driveway (which I completely agree with) because the cars drive pretty fast on this street (speed is 60 km/hr). The lighting going to the back of the house (which is where the apartment is located) could be a little brighter, and there could be an additional light as well, for those of us who don't see as well at night.
This was a 1-bedroom apartment with a completely separate bedroom. The kitchenette was well-supplied with a Brita coffee-maker (with a selection of coffee pods, some teas, sugar, honey and coffee whitener), dishes, cups and cutlery, dishwashing supplies, tea towel, microwave, electric kettle, toaster and small fridge. There was a sink where dirty dishes could be washed. There was also a small table and 2 chairs where we ate our meals and planned the next day's adventure. The whole space was very clean and comfortable. The bedroom also had USB charging ports, which was quite convenient. If we go back to St. John's for another visit, I would definitely stay here.

Nothing worth mentioning.
Clean, comfortable and all the basics were there. Over and above the basics was the access to a laundry, most helpful. Patrick, the owner, is very helpful and extremely friendly.

There was nothing that I didn’t like just as a girly I would’ve loved a larger/longer mirror in the bedroom maybe to see outfits( just a suggestion) and maybe a toaster oven to cook or reheat small meals(also just a suggestion from personal preference) :)
Loved the vintage style appliances and the ability to use streaming services, also appreciated all the extra little things that were available like coffee and tea. It’s a great little place for someone travelling alone or with a partner/friend.

Very cosy apartment in a quite neighbourhood. Has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Just 10 minutes dive to the downtown and 3 minutes to a massive shopping centre. Very clear instructions provided so you won't have to think about small details.

You need a car to access downtown.
Door was left unlocked so we didn’t need to worry about access. It was comfortable and had air conditioning. Close to amenities.

We purchased some non disposable cutlery and plates as we like to limit our use of plastic
The suite was comfortable and felt like home. Washer dryer was very much appreciated as was the free coffee snd coffee machine. Patrick was able to provide suggestions for fun activities and was accommodating to our late flight home by extending our check out time

Great location ! The wedding was in Pippy Park, so I just had to pop on the TCH and was there in minutes. Patrick has thought of everything.

It's basically basement apartment unit under ground level which attracts some bugs. I saw a rat right outside the entrance door and it run away to a hole under the door itself, I prayed it would not go inside. I didn't see it after then. In the bathroom I met with 1 ant and 1 caterpillar type bug. I let go the ant and killed the other one since it was scary for me. Apartment was smelling like a laundry room since washer and dryer is basically in the living area.
It's was a compact basement apartment larger then a hotel room.
