How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThe location is excellent, right off the highway. The young man who greeted us was fabulous! He went above and beyond to help make our stay perfect. We were given an upgrade to the family room, which we really appreciated. Breakfast was your usual fare with yogurt, premade omelettes, self-serve waffles and pancakes, fruit, juices, and toast.
The room has several deficiencies and could use an upgrade. The fridge door was missing the racks that hold things, and the items in the kitchen are very cheap and flimsy. The beds are super comfortable though, so that is the main thing! The price is high. And I really dislike how everything is disposable at breakfast…so much waste!

There was no lift/elevator, which made it difficult to carry luggage to the room. Also, we noticed insect on the ceiling, which my son had to remove.

Verified reviewIt seems like the pillowcases, duvet covers, and bed sheets in the hotel room were not changed after the previous guest left—they just appeared to have been rearranged. The pillowcases were yellowish and had an unpleasant odor. I requested a change, but the replacements felt the same. The staff brought in the new duvet covers and bedsheets in a messy bundle, clutched against their chest, rather than neatly folded and clean. It gave the impression that they had just randomly picked them from a pile of dirty linens and brought them to my room.

Verified reviewThis was a one night stay in Kamloops for my daughter and myself before we hit Whistler the next day. Very nice suite with two queen beds, air conditioning and USB ports to charge our phones. The location was great as we wanted to eat at Red Robin which was only about a 5 min drive away ( Red Robin is no longer in AB so it was a treat and a surprise for my kid ), and Costco was blocks away so we could load up with groceries for Whistler. The outdoor pool looked good though we didn't use it and there was a hot breakfast the next morning with eggs, potatoes and 1 meat. Staff was friendly and allowed us to check in early. Both my daughter and I agree, this was one of the better non-suite hotels we have stayed at. Would come back here again.
The only thing I did not like about this stay was that there is no elevator at this hotel. Normally that would not be an issue but I was hauling a large electric cooler to carry groceries in, up and down the stairs. Regardless, I would stay here again.

Very dirty looking room. Stains on floors, walls, ceilings. (That I’m pretty sure would come out if they’d wipe it down good) Truthfully didn’t look like anyone cleaned our room before we arrived. Beds didn’t look clean, I didn’t feel comfortable sleeping on it so I had to grab a blanket from our car. Bug in bathroom. Cannot even believe they’d charge $196 for ONE night. It was horrid.

Verified reviewWe enjoyed having access to an outdoor pool, a hot tub, and a fairly complete breakfast. If you like sushi’s like we do there is a sushi restaurant just a 2 min walk away (Heaven and it was great).
We liked less the fact that there was no proper shower gel — just a very small solid soap. There was no ventilation in the toilet. The pool was poorly equipped (only one umbrella, just two lounge chairs, and no water toys like pool noodles for children). The water was also a bit cloudy, so it might not have been well treated. There was hair in the bathtub and a dried stain on the wall above one of the beds…

had a transvestite hanging in the parkade in car and just walking around, seemed odd, don't know if he had a room or not but definitely was in and out of building. No elevator, freezer/ice box didn't work. TV was old and outdated, small and fuzzy picture.

No elevator so getting up with luggage was a challenge.
