It feels like a hostel situation- entrance is through the family's main entrance and you can hear family life unfolding upstairs. There are at least 2 rooms being rented out at any given time so you end up running into the other guests. There's a private bathroom but you have to leave your bedroom to get to it. Overall, privacy feels very limited. Also, though our room had a window there was no breeze and the room felt super stuffy even though the rest of the basement felt nice and cool. There was a fan in the room but it didn't help much. I think the value is pretty good for the price, but you need to go in with the right expectations and at a cooler time of year.

The host is incredibly sweet. The space was VERY clean.

No breakfast

Although there was a coffee maker and microwave available, there was no breakfast (continental or other) available. If we wanted to have breakfast, we would have to provide and prep it.

Found it a little difficult to find. Not great parking, but hostess gave us her parking area. We do prefer our own bathroom. This was our first B&B we have stayed at.

Friendly hosts, very clean home. We were offered breakfast but had other plans. Comfortable bed and a large central TV room overlooking the lovely ocean view was very nice.

It can’t be changed, but guest house location is on a middle level, meaning owners are living above, renters below. The tenants weren’t disruptive or noisy, but I could hear owner upstairs from time to time - understandably, it’s his home; coming out to smoke and cough. Not a big deal overall to me, however.

Thoroughly enjoyed the ocean views from what turned out to be my own private terrace! (Only other guests there were at a wedding that evening). What a special treat to also witness spectacular sunrise and sunset views! Breakfast was a nice bonus ☺️ Also, the owners were very responsive to my questions, kind and accommodating - I was travelling alone and didn’t have a vehicle, they allowed me to bring my luggage early until my room was ready. Also, they drove me down to a bus stop the next morning! (It’s a big steep hill to main road).

We were surprised to be staying in someone's home at first. It was sort of like a youth hostel with sharing terrace and living room with kitchen facilities. The room did not have a key but Lilly proposed to close the room and she had the key to open it. When you don't know Nanaimo you don't realize that Ocean view is not close to the water.

Lilly was very good at giving recommendations of places to visit. The room was basic. The bed was comfortable.

Very warm welcome from Lily. The room was spacious and the adjoining bathroom spotless. The bed was comfortable. Tea, coffee making equipment and toaster in the communal space. The balcony provided a nice view to the coast.

Did not know that there was no separate entrance to our rented space and that we had to share it with friends of the family who owned the place.

Beautiful location, walking distance from the gorgeous Neck Point. Very clean, private and quiet, with nice coffee and basic breakfast service in the morning. Great balcony overlooking the water. Friendly, accommodating host with great suggestions of where else to visit in the area.

Breakfast they offer is terrible, no thought of special dietary and the margarine they offer to put on your brown multiseed bread is awful along with the very cheap jam. The history should just offer you Chinese people the reception we got when we parked in the drive was “you move car as this for long term guest” as a man in another car shouted at her in Chinese then she moved her car so we could park on drive, the then long term guests left their shoes right inside of the front door so you had to step over them we proceeded to move them to the side like polite guests and told them. Please have more thought to other paying guests.

All was excellent for our needs.

Li Li is very welcoming. The property is clean, bed comfortable and room spacious. The view is spectacular and we appreciated sitting out on the balcony. Also enjoyed walking around the neighborhood.

Situated a short drive from the ferry port we used this as a stopover before an early ferry, but the expansive ocean views were definitely an added bonus. Very clean property and lovely hosts.

The accommodation is great. We were greeted and welcomed super friendly. The hosts gave us many tips and were very friendly. The view is really breathtaking. Wonderful! I can recommend it to everyone. We were then in the city still at the port and eat beautifully. Everything is easily accessible by car. In addition, it was super clean.

My room was spacious and clean, with a very comfortable bed. There was a large common room which was equipped with a coffee machine, toaster, etc. The hostess, Lily, was very helpful. The guest rooms are well-located for getting into the downtown area of Nanaimo and the various malls along the highway.

Bedroom blinds could be better to darken the room more. Late at night when we were sleeping, somebody put on the light outside and our whole room was lit. Which woke us up. In the morning, it's quite light aswell.

Great view, nice patio to relax on. Very comfortabele room with nice bed. Clean bathroom. Host Lily provides you with anything you might want.
