How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

2 rooms sharing the house was not very comfortable. Breakfast was self service and not so good.
Peaceful environment 10 minutes walk from the hustle and bustle of the Banff center.

What a rare find! The place was amazing, within walking distance to town. Edwina made sure we got settled in and showed us where everything was. She was very knowledgeable about the town and helped up navigate the map. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.

Pillows were too thin. Could not control AC.
Short walk to downtown. Edwina the host was willing to advise on experiences in Banff. Accommodated dietary restrictions.

A few more days in Banff.
The breakfast.provided was varied & tasty. The bedroom, bathroom & lounge were well presented & comfortable. The location was ideal to wander into Banff or explore the mountains & sites in the national park.

Upstairs maybe an issue for some people with mobility issue or large heavy cases Would have been nice to do a load of washing. We did know there was no facility to do this so was expected, just would have been appreciated as next place we stayed also had no facilities.
5 min walk to main street and shopping. Plenty of choice for breakfast (do own) Sharing with one other couple or person was ok Own bathroom/toilet was great Owners were very pleasant and helpful Would stay again

Such a lovely place to stay, clean and comfortable & an easy walk in to the town centre. The breakfast provisions were perfect. Edwina was so welcoming, prompt with comms and helpful with suggestions. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

Nothing at all. It’s not a dislike as such but if on foot, it’s a ten minute walk up a slight hill from the CBD.
I think we had the smaller of four rooms but it was extremely clean and comfortable. The presence of a lightly-peopled common area outside our door added plenty of space while the self-serve nature of the continental breakfast gave a lot of time flexibility. The B&B has a really homely feel to it and the hosts Edwina and Kevan are friendly and helpful.

The kitchenette was good for breakfast, but only provided a microwave for anything else. Dinner was limited to microwave meals or eating out. We knew this before booking but was still a bit limiting.
Clean and well appointed, with ample breakfast supplies provided by the host. Edwina has provided a very comfortable and relaxing atmosphere and made us feel very welcome and looked after. The location is a very quick walk to central Banff but far enough away that made the location quiet.

Clean. Good views. Seven minutes from Banff Avenue. Host was always available. Shared living room where we visited with couples from Austria and Australia. Comfortable bed. Three windows to open to provide good sleep with cool mountain air. Quiet neighborhood. Light breakfast. Near Lake Louise and Lake Moraine as well as all the other attractions (gondola, shopping, dining and outdoor activities).

Nothing, for me this property felt like a home from home and really enhanced my stay in Banff.
Continental breakfast, lots of choice. Muffins were exceptional, very light and extremely tasty. Items were always restocked.
