How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Breakfast was not great. First day we showed up with 15 min till it closed and there was eggs and sausage and nothing else. Second day a few more Items to choose from but very basic. The most lack luster I have seen in a hotel.

A bit out of the way from town or the beach easy to find off the highway

Breakfast was good and if you managed to beat the crowds you could have had a decent selection. Not a fancy one but enough to get you started for the day either before heading to a trail or to the airport.

This is a budget hotel that meets your needs perfectly. No luxury but perfectly comfortable with friendly staff. The breakfast was fine for the hotel class, just what was expected.

Breakfast could stay open a bit later... I am on vacation.... Sleeping in would be nice. Need better milk or cream for coffee that is available in the lobby. And tea would be nice too.
Pool, hot tub, breakfast, room a/c worked nicely, bed was comfortable (not superb), quite quiet considering next to hiway. Loved that pets are welcome. I will keep that in mind for next time.

Not much sound insulation. You can hear everything from footsteps upstairs and outside, air conditioning from other rooms exceedingly loud. Too much light coming into room. Breakfast was not good the first day, as they didn't have a delivery, and the poor lady was running around trying to fill up what was available, but not enough hands, she kept smiling and apologising. Doing whatever she could. The next day it was so much better.
Convenient for family visit. Clean The room was good, fridge tea and coffee facilities. Wonderful breakfast staff

The breakfast was chaotic, ran out of food and long line-ups. Staff were complaining about people showing up 1/2 an hour before it closed. When people are on vacations they maybe don’t get up at 7:00am 🤷♀️
It was beautiful outside with flowers and shrubs!

The room size was very small with not much space with two young kids.
Location to airport was very ideal, bed was very comfortable! Waterslide was a great addition!

Location, outdoor seating, approachable front desk staff... The breakfast workers were very kind, friendly and caring to clients. Hard workers and kept ahead of clients....keeping it well stocked and clean. Front desk- thanks for helping us with finding less plump pillows! Greatly appreciated going beyond your duties....trying to help us out. Your resourcefulness worked! As a visitor, I appreciated their smiles and welcoming to all guests.

Breakfast was limited for my wife who does not eat meat or dairy.
Great for the kids, the pool and slide was a big hit. Close to downtown ladysmith and nanaimo, friendly staff and clean

The sofa bed was a bit uncomfortable.The coffee at breakfast was not strong enough.
The pools were nice, loved the hot pool the most. Kids loved the water slides too.

Clean even though renovations were going on. Good location - restaurants, stores close drive away. Walk to fast food, liquor and convenience stores. Excellent free help yourself breakfast - good choices, well organized - best one we have had.

I thought I had booked a room with a sofa and a kitchenette. I was disappointed to have a basic room with no seating, and only a fridge/ microwave.
Breakfast was great. Really enjoyed the pool/hot tub.

Breakfast hours should be extended to 10:00 instead of 9:00 because not everyone is traveling for business and would like to sleep in. They seemed to run out of food (certain items) by 8:00 which was disappointing
