Not much. I guess that particular location, with a neighbouring timber yard and other nearby industry was slightly off putting. But Kiwi Cove is an oasis

Spacious and comfortable surrounded by lovely gardens and awesome kiwi plantation. Plenty of space and excellent terrace with sea view. The fruit trees at the sea edge were laden with plums 😋

The prices for hotels has become an issue. They are so high it’s becoming an issue to travel. Your lodge was lovely but still a lot of money

The size of the room was exceptional and the view of the orchard and lake was really lovely. We enjoyed our walk on the grounds and the breakfast was plentiful and delicious.

The floor in our room had an odd odour. We theorized it was because they might use vinegar to clean the floors. So my suggestion would be to go over the floors again with plain water after cleaning.

The kitchen staff in the morning were warm and attentive. Breakfast was good with adequate variety. They serve their own Kiwi jam at breakfast. The little gift shop is stocked with locally made items. It was a quiet, relaxing stay with beautiful views of the kiwi orchard and ocean beyond. An otter made his way across the orchard one morning while we were eating breakfast. There are deer, bunnies and lots of bird life. We were able to paddleboard from a nearby beach. Rooms were clean. The beds are comfortable.

Not an issue, but just a comment the shower was squeaking even though the water wasn't warm.

The room size was sufficient, the washroom was stocked with necessities, and air conditioning was provided. Clean facilities overall. Breakfast was provided, with good, healthy options. Thank you to owner Lori and chef Peter and staff for your effort in making Kiwi Cove a pleasant place to stay! We appreciate it!

The picnic table and chairs by the fire pit had lots of bird poop on it and nothing to clean them with,.

It was a smaller much more personal place. Beautiful setting. Very spacious and comfortable. Relaxing

It was advertised as housekeeping but our room not housekeeper whilst in residence. Not completely clean a lot of dust. The bed very soft and a noisy shower. We felt like caretakers as we were only residents in our second night.

The lady at breakfast very good. Parking free of charge and the walk to the seashore

The host and staff were great. We had what we needed for a comfortable stay. Also the location was very peaceful and relaxing. The breakfast provided was a bonus and was excellent. It was a great way to start the day. Also had a sample of the kiwi jam produced on site. The lodge also focused on local and environment friendly products. I would rate the stay and service as excellent and would highly recommend the lodge.

Room was a bit plain and dated, could use some cozy touches.

Location is beautiful overlooking a cove and the mountains. We were there in winter but still an excellent scene. The breakfast was a bit plain but serviceable. Staff was very friendly. Room was large and had an excellent balcony that would be great in summer. Overall a great stay, would be happy to return

The bed was way too soft for us, not sure if it’s the same in all the rooms but ours was extremely soft and hard on our backs.

The breakfast was excellent. The property is quite secluded and peaceful. A great place to go for a relaxing stay. No dogs barking and no kids during the week. Not a party place, no restaurant for lunch and dinner, no bar.

Although the hotel is just a 2-minute walk from the lake, it's not suitable for swimming or for children to play. For a proper beach experience, you'll need to drive to Transfer Beach, which is about a 10-minute drive away. Transfer Beach offers good swimming opportunities, excellent kayaking, and a great playground for kids, making it an ideal spot for families. Additionally, if your room is on the second floor, be aware that there is no elevator. Not all rooms have portable air conditioning; instead, they are equipped with ceiling and portable fans. Refrigerators are not available in every room, but there are some in the hallways for guest use. Please note that even the two-bedroom suites do not have a kitchen or kitchenette, so consider this if it’s important to you. Also, there is no pool or hot tub on the premises.

We were a group of 17 people, ranging from a 16-month-old child to a 79-year-old senior, and we all had a great experience at this hotel. The facility is very clean and well-maintained, and it's conveniently located just a 20-minute drive from the Nanaimo ferry terminal. The rooms are spacious and spotless, providing a comfortable stay for everyone. The breakfast was excellent, especially considering the hotel's affordable price. However, it’s important to note that lunch and dinner are not available on-site, so you'll need to plan accordingly. The hotel is situated in a quiet area with a lovely atmosphere. I especially enjoyed the beautiful backyard, which is filled with kiwi trees. Overall, it was a fantastic stay!

The bathrooms are a little outdated and the shower was squeaky.

Very idyllic property that will help you reconnect with yourself and the beautiful world around you. Just a short drive from restaurants, stores, and Transfer Beach park which offers many fun activities in the summer including live music, food trucks, and the fireworks.

A v minor point but more USB and electric outlets would be helpful for charging various devices such as phones, hearing aids, iPads and so on.
