Peaceful location with nice views and a caring host

Privacy is an issue. Lack of it is noticeable for couples. Also, there is no flexibility in managing the booking. No air conditioning or even a fan during a heatwave made sleeping in the space very warm! Even with windows open! During a cold snap, a heater in the room would be suggested. Calling during the day to check in felt weird personally while my friends suggested that maybe the owner just needed to lock up while they were out despite our clear communication that we were not going to be at the bed and breakfast during daytime.

The cleanliness of the space is appreciated. The breakfasts cooked every morning are chef level. Free parking, too. Very friendly owner/ operator. Lots of information and suggestions for tourism. Please keep in mind this was my first experience using a bed and breakfast!!

The bedroom and bathroom were right next to the hosts living area and bedroom, I thought there would be a little more separation. Also, the pool was not available when we were there which was disappointing given the nice weather.

Nice location, great views. Host was very friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were really good. Downstairs living area had a good selection of board games, as well as a microwave and mini fridge which came in handy.

The layout .. no locks on bedroom door , bathroom was shared and door didn't lock, no air conditioning

It was not clean (bathroom floor, fridge, patio), it was untidy (hosts personal and office items scattered through common areas, patio scattered with dead vegetation) it was not private (all areas but bedroom shared with host and other guests, bathroom on a different floor accessed via a spiral staircase).

There was nothing not to like as we were the only guest there for the two days so we pretty much had the bedroom upstairs and bathroom to ourselves and we were even allowed to used the downstairs area to watch a movie and were very comfortable.

Breakfast was excellent. Coffee could have been stronger with more body to it. Terry was always happy to provide what we needed. The location is good if you have a car as the drive in is quite a ways.

The owner is very strange. He is a single old man who rents out rooms in his personal home. His bedroom is right beside the one and only washroom the guests are expected to use. Creepy. You get kicked out at breakfast time. So you are paying just to sleep here. My kids were afraid of him. The vents in the ceiling are open and see thru from the basement bedroom to the upstairs. The rooms don't have locks on them?? I didn't feel comfortable leaving my children to sleep in the main living room where the 2nd bed was, considering the open staircase up to where the owner was drinking wine late at night. We weren't able to use the washroom in the middle of the night. As it was on another level. We stayed in the basement and had to brush our teeth outside on patio. It's not suitable for families or couples. If this property was set up properly, it would be nice, but the lack of privacy and feeling of comfort and unsafety made it a horrible experience. We paid for 2 nights and only stayed for 1. Really shocked to find this property on booking.com honestly. There should be better monitoring and management of appropriate properties.

The only thing nice about this place was the pool. My children were swimming, and owner proceeded to put the cover on pool at night within 1 hour of us arriving.

I was a little taken aback when our accommodations were in the host's home. We stayed in the basement but our bathroom was upstairs, right outside the host's bedroom which was not what I was expecting. In the morning we were told that we couldn't return to the house until after 4pm as our host would be out for the day. This struck us as odd as we were renting a room for the weekend and felt we should be able to come and go as we pleased.

Our host Terry was kind and he made a really tasty breakfast! The location was beautiful and it was really nice to have a swim in the pool after a long, hot day.

Found out a few days before we traveled that this facility does not have air conditioning. Given that the forecast temperature was in the mid 30s, it would have been impossible to stay there. Given the cancelation policy is no refunds 7 days before, I am out $650 so be careful. Would be better if the ad stated there was no air conditioning - I had to phone to confirm. Probably the only rental accommodation in Kamloops without a/c.
