Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNo aircon in the room, limited seating at the bar resulting in inability to go for drinks before evening meal. Check in process could be improved as not enough staff to cope with number of guests checking in.

TaiwanRoom was a bit small compared to the pictures (we booked the King bed room). No A/C (confirmed by concierge) for a room that costs 2500cdn for 3 nights.... unbelievable. Room got really stuffy when you visit Jasper in July. They give you a ceiling fan and a vertical fan but over the 3 nights of our stay we got woken up several times, sweaty. Bathroom had no ventilator and it was quite small as we could not even lay out the bath mat otherwise it'd get jammed under the door when you open it. Previously said service overall was good, though the reception at the Great Hall restaurant really need some improvement. Hostess had a stern look and serious manner. This is not a business hotel ... would help to have some smile when greeting guests. Luckily our waitress was friendly and approachable. Food was fine and we had the poke bowel and pull pork sandwich. Very reasonable portion but a bit too greasy and heavy so we did not finish.
Fairmont JPL is situated in a secluded, quiet area just about 2km outside the Jasper main town and it's got a lot to offer in terms of the things to do. I love the old luxury lodge feel and the way things are arranged in the Park - clean and comfortable. You can take leisurely trails and also engage in several types of water sports, or just casual boating. Check was easy just head to main lodge and did not take too long for us so it was efficient. Generally plenty of parking spaces for everyone though on busy holidays like the Canada Day when we were there we had to park farther away when returned late. Service overall is friendly and helpful. Good and comfortable bed. You can check-out quickly directly on TV using remote.

CanadaFood options could be better. Just one restaurant makes it hard to find a spot during peak periods of the day especially when you are travelling the town and get back at odd hours, the menu could also be more diverse to cater to different palates.
The facility is spread across 700 acres and that's a rare find. Beautifully managed by the staff, great options for people in all age groups. The canoe ride and kid activities are great options.

CanadaWe found the room was a bit hot. I don't think it has any AC installed which might is understandable. You need to open the windows to let in air from outside to cool down the room. The bathroom is also quite small. i suggest you pay more to get a bigger unit - it is worth it.
Staff were very responsive and very helpful. Totally unmatched. Room was good and the location was easy to get to from the parking lots. Dinner at the the restaurant (Orso) was really good.

AustraliaService was very slow, possibly due to lack of staff, but the hotel did apologise for this at the time.
A last minute booking as the lodge had not been reopened when we planned our trip. It was a nice addition. Clearly still recovering from the fires and we were pleased to see that the lodge was donating 100% of our fees to the funds to help rebuild the town. The room was spacious and we loved the log fire, we had bad weather so it was very welcome. We enjoyed the planetarium evening.

United StatesOur room had no air conditioning. When I pay $800/night for a hotel room, air conditioning seems like a reasonable expectation. It was only after I was checked in and was ready to go to my room that they quickly mentioned, almost as an afterthought, that there was no air conditioning. The web site says nothing about this notable deficiency. At the hotel, they tried to defensively explain that the weather was unseasonably hot — that was true, but the hotel should have plans for that contingency, it happens every year. Not a valid excuse. Plus, there was a rotting dead magpie right outside our balcony — I told the front desk, and they didn’t seem to care and it was not removed. And it took many tries to make the wifi work. For such high-end hotel, there were too many weird and meaningful disappointments to rate it highly.
Lovely location. Mostly gracious staff — especially the parking staff.

United StatesOur room was cooled by a AC unit that was pulling air through our window. That window was therefore, unable to be used and the other window in the unit did not have a screen. We could not sleep with the windows open. Also the stand alone unit didn't cool the room enough. Its a shame that with all of the resort fees assessed, they charge additional for certain amenities such as kayaking or canoeing ($100 rental charge).
Staff was superb. Great stay because of the highly attentive and kind staff. They went out of their way to make my husband feel special on his 45th Birthday. The property is charming and is well kept.
