Our host Darlene was lovely and she had all the special touches for our stay to feel like being at home rather than on the road! We had a lovely breakfast too with her the next morning, where she went to so much trouble to present a beautiful breakfast table. It is close to so many things, sites and shops as long as you have a car.

It was a quiet location 10 minutes from the port so it was a good solution to spend 1 night before taking the ferry back to the mainland. Nice breakfast with scones, fresh fruit and eggs in croissant.

It feels like being guests in the lady's house rather than in a real B&B. Some things we found a little strange: the lady comes in your bedroom before going to sleep, to take the decorative pillows away and leave chocolates, which can be a nice gesture, but it also feels a bit strange that she goes in after you have all your things inside. She made a comment because we showed for breakfast 4 minutes after the agreed time. Her loud radio went off for a good 15 minutes when she woke up and then we were all chatting in the living room next to the other guests who were still sleeping. This can't be avoided as she sits next to you during breakfast. If the other guests wake up before you, you won't be able to sleep past her wake up time. She was on the door looking at all our tote bags and things while we were gathering our things and putting on our shoes. I see from all the reviews that many people love the experience and it can for sure be nice, but just know it feels like visiting an old relative and if you want more independence and a faster and more transactional check-in and check-out, this may not be ideal for you.

Short walk to a beach where i saw the most stunning sunset of my life. Breakfast was also nice! Darlene is awesome, and her garden is pure goals.

Quiet location and easy to find.

The dim front door made it tricky to navigate at night. Breakfast was adequate but a little restrictive. The tiny TV did not work, and we didn’t feel it worthwhile to complain.

What a perfect place to stay in the Nanaimo area! Host Darlene is a gem! She makes you feel right at home and goes above and beyond to make sure you’re comfortable. Our room had gorgeous views in 2 directions: the ocean and her flower garden - where you have to take time and wander through her 1/2 acre of beauty and tranquility. We would go back in a heartbeat.

Clean room with comfortable bed in a quiet residential neighbourhood just outside Nanaimo. You will need a car to get around. Breakfast is homemade and delicious! Hostess is very sweet.

Darlene is a wonderful host... warm, friendly, and very hospitable!! Her gardens are stunning, and the view from the dining room is gorgeous. The home is clean and comfortable. Loved the large private bathroom. Good.parking. And the breakfast is stellar! Love the warm, homemade scones. I'd be happy to return.
