No fault of the hotel but it was a bit unfortunate with all the construction around. And with the heat wave it would have been nice for the pool to be cool and not a hot tub

The hotel is by a huge building site which we were not told about beforehand. It did not keep us awake at night or disrupt our stay but it's not great to look out of your window on (even though there is also a highway outside too. ) We didn't like the single use plastics at Breakfast. Most hotels, in our experience, no longer use them and it is disappointing that this Holiday Inn Express do. The hotel is a good 40mins by public transport to the centre of Quebec city and if driving your own car, it is very difficult to park. Taxis were an option but not cheap so this needs to be factored in when making your choice of accommodation.

This is a clean, well equipped hotel with staff who are friendly and helpful. The suite we were given was light and had good facilities. There is plenty of parking outside the hotel which is included in the cost of the room. There is a good gym and ice facilities. The breakfast was good with lots of options.

I didn't like all the construction around the hotel, I found it hard to get in & out of hotel and to access the main routes in and out of Quebec city.

Bed was comfortable, room was clean, breakfast was good, really enjoyed the jucuzzi pool!

The construction around really hinders the ability to travel to locations around. The Spa and Pool facilities are only seasonal for the summer. The breakfast could benefit from having a few green options even if it is only cucumbers or lettuce.

The staff is helpful and friendly. The breakfast time was long enough to enjoy to the fullest extent. The gym offers a nice option to have a light workout to keep your travel slightly healthier. The rooms are clean and the hotel is generally silent.

Gym is very small and they couldn’t keep water in the gym, you have to use a key card to come in to all exterior doors except the main entrance, elevator broke down half the time we were there

Breakfast area got very busy around 8:30 AM - if possible it would be nice to expand the breakfast eating time past 930 AM.

Breakfast had good variety. Room was nice and clean. Good location, close to the train station and a bus stop. Easy to travel to old Quebec by bus. It only took us 20 minutes and the Quebec bus ticket system was very easy to use.

Experience with Room Cleaning Service I’m not sure why it was so difficult to have our room cleaned after the first night of our stay (we stayed for a total of two nights). Here's what happened: Initial Request In the morning, after our first night, we asked the front desk if someone could clean our room while we were out visiting Old Quebec City. They confirmed that someone would clean the room. Doubts About Cleaning However, as I chatted with two cleaning workers, I got the feeling that our room might be skipped. I wasn't sure if they'd actually clean it. Follow-Up Call Later, in the afternoon, I called the front desk from a restaurant to ask again if someone would clean our room. The receptionist checked and said they would try to arrange for someone to clean it. Room Condition Upon Return When we returned to the hotel that evening, we saw that the trash can had been emptied and clean towels had been replaced. However, it was clear that the floor was not cleaned. Key Issues: The initial confirmation from the front desk did not match the actual service we received. Despite repeated requests, the cleaning was incomplete when we returned. Hopefully, this feedback can help improve the clarity and consistency of the hotel's cleaning service in the future.

In the middle of major roadworks and no where close by to walk to for dinner in evening. Would benefit from a bar rather than hot tub.

Room was good size including space for 2 to sit. Comfortable bed; good size bathroom. Fully equipped with microwave, tea and coffee making etc. Has a hot tub.

Some suites seem to have tables and chairs, and others do not - it's really not clear when booking which you're getting if you go according to the pictures – I suppose having booked last minute and getting the last suite in the hotel, we got one that didn't have them, but it would have been nice to know. Had to change our dinner plans last minute on the night we arrived.

Comfortable beds and clean rooms. Good breakfast, with some options being changed up a little every morning. Nice to have the variety! The sofa bed was actually made when we arrived, which was very much appreciated after a long drive! Super friendly and helpful staff on all fronts, and the housekeeping staff were also really considerate when cleaning and restocking the room. Helpful information brochures were everywhere in the room where some things might need explaining.

Shower for handicap accessible is good but there should be a carpet or something on the floor to make it not slippery after shower - the place is big but scary to navigate when floor is wet
