How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

It’s like 15 min walk to the city center if you don’t mind walking. Inside of the rooms could be upgraded as it is nothing fancy for that expensive price tag.
Awesome hot tub caves open until 11pm! Has a Chilis right on side and a parking garage.

it seemed someone (not sure thief or some kind of ) broke into the room next to ours. i felt a little bit nervous.
it has hot spring. the hotel is not far from the centre of banff town. it takes 10mins to go to the elk hotel, where u can take shuttle bus to gandola.

Another bin in the suites would have been handy rather than just in the bathroom. I couldn’t find a recycling bin either. On the edge of the town.
Interesting layout. Lovely, unique hot pool. Laundry facilities were useful.

Our teenager said the sofa bed was very uncomfortable and slept little the first night. The next morning, we complained to the front desk who acknowledged there was a problem with the sofa beds, and put extra bedding on which helped. However, they must have known at check-in that we would be using the sofa-bed so could have offered this rather than waiting for us to report it. The air conditioning unit is in the living area, right close to the sofa bed. It is very loud, we had to turn it off at night for our teenager to sleep, luckily it was not too hot.
We booked a one bedroom king suite, for two parents and a teenager. The suite was well equipped, and if there had only been two of us the room would have been great. The king bed was very comfortable.

The Check in reception was not very welcoming. The room was very disappointing. No AirCon, no wardrobe to hang up clothes. … just shelves. The TV was very poor. The hotel was very expensive. There are definitely better and cheaper hotels in Banff

The room is a bit small, although it’s enough for the two of us.
The location is great. it’s a 10 walk to downtown center, and the hotel offers free pass for local Roam bus, which we used a lot. The hot pool and sauna were nice, but it can get crowded at late night. The pull-out sofa bed is a nice feature. The staff were very friendly and they promptly gave us extra coffee and tea, sheets and blanket when asked.

I had requested a quiet room - although the room was lovely, it was dark and tucked under the stairwell. We did have an issue with a leak (from the room above)
Great location and an added bonus to get the roam bus tickets. Also free parking. Front desk (Ken?) was very helpful with bus timetables for the lake trip and gondola (recommend the gondola trip)

The air conditioner was so loud we had to turn it off overnight and leave the window open to let the cool air in. And we were in a room where the bedroom was separate from the living area where the aircon was, and it was still really loud.
The staff were great and accommodating.

The cleaners trolleys are on the landings from very early in the morning until quite late in the day which can cause issues with luggage.
The property is on the main road and an easy walk into town. There was a spa but we did not use it so are unable to comment on the facilities of the gym or spa.

The property I can say was well maintained, it has this rustic vibes but can do much better if they do a little upgrade.

Small size room is small. The widow in the room overlook the inside corridor, so no views.
