First, we loved that it was in Mahone Bay and it was an old property. Cathy was a wonderful host and gave us many ideas on how to spend our four days there. The room was lovely and had everything we needed and we loved the breakfasts. We would highly recommend this b&b.

It is an old house do you need to put up with creaking and noise from other rooms but it is not annoying at all.

The property gives the authentic vibe, it is a historic building with an interesting background. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Great views from the front windows.

Location was great. Close to key points of interest such as Lunenberg. Walking distance to restaurants. Breakfast was delicious. Our host was friendly and gave us plenty of info for tourist locations. Very comfortable bed and room.

There was some road construction near the B&B.

The breakfast was wonderful. Our host Cathy is a lovely guest and amazing cook. The location between the three ocean side churches is iconic and we could walk to all of the shops and restaurants. We enjoyed meeting other people during breakfast and we loved Cathy’s dog Murphy Brown. The coffee is delicious.

Only a minor point, the Lounge room was a bit dark

Cathy was a good host and made lovely breakfasts. It was an excellent location by the lake, Murphy was a friendly dog who provided great entertainment.

The noise from the cars on the street.

If you are staying here I highly recommend the Gull’s nest room (see photos). It was stunning. Beautiful view of the water through the trees. Real rustic charm. The bathtub in the room was a treat and the shower water pressure is awesome. The house is nice and quiet. My travel mate and I enjoyed sitting outside at night on the Muskoka chairs and watch the sun set. It is truly beautiful and serene. The house is also very, very, very clean. Cathy also is equipped with anything you may have forgotten from bug spray to bandaids. Now this is a bed and breakfast. I am not a big breakfast eater and I’m not a big fan of banked goods. I let Cathy know I was happy with a piece of toast and a glass of juice. Cathy finally caved and let me just eat toast, but she was so very accommodating and bought me two different types of bread so I had a selection. 😊. I did try Cathy’s olive oil and lemon loaf (keeping in mind I really don’t like the taste of lemon). OMG, it was beyond delicious and moist. Cathy just gave the loaf a “kiss” of lemon and it was divine. My friend really enjoyed Cathy’s food and homemade compote’s. Lastly, if you are a dog lover you will absolutely fall in love with Murphy (chocolate lab). He is so friendly and loves his belly rubs. Definitely bring a few treats in your bag and you will have a best friend for life. I can only give this property 5 stars, but I would rank it higher if I could.

Cathy the innkeeper was a delight! she had a ton of maps and recommendations for things to do and sights to see, and she was super responsive and made a delicious breakfast each day. The rooms were clean, the water pressure was high, and it was a great location for getting to dinner places or taking a walk by the water. parking was really accessible, the living room was a really cozy spot to hang out and have a fire, and Cathy was super good about allergies and food sensitivities.

From the moment we stepped into this delightful B&B, we felt an immediate sense of warmth and welcome. The inviting atmosphere and beautifully appointed rooms created a truly memorable experience, with every detail carefully considered to ensure comfort and relaxation. Cathy and Murphy 🐾were exceptional, going out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed, which made our experience unforgettable. Breakfast was a highlight, featuring a delicious and varied menu made from fresh, local ingredients. Each morning began perfectly. We’re grateful for the opportunity to stay in such a beautiful place and left with wonderful memories (Thank you for the soap). We highly recommend this B&B for anyone seeking a peaceful, relaxing getaway!
