The staff moved our room to another room because we asked for “not facing the trees” when we checked in. The staff didn’t mention anything about the new room and later at night we found out that the room is just opposite to the “murder room” where there are lots of ghost rumors. We were scared and asked for a room change. The hotel was nicely moved us down the floor but emotionally we were not comfortable for the whole experience and we checked out the next day.

Beautiful setting and close to downtown and other sights.

What we liked most was the stunning location and the magical atmosphere of the property — staying in a castle surrounded by the mountains

Unfortunately, our experience fell short of expectations, especially compared to the exceptional stay we had just come from at Fairmont Lake Louise. We checked out on time from Lake Louise and arrived at Banff Springs around midday — the team knew we were coming, but despite that, our room wasn’t ready early. More frustratingly, even the 4 p.m. check-in promise wasn’t honored, and we only got access to our room much later. This caused a lot of stress, particularly as we were traveling with children and had evening plans, but couldn’t get ready in time. When we finally entered the room, it was underwhelming — quite small, with a tiny bathroom, and not worth the high price point. We also had a disappointing dinner at the Waldhaus restaurant, where we were seated in a loud basement-like area surrounded by people cheering for a game — far from the elevated experience we expected. While the staff was generally friendly, the concierge service lacked the attentiveness and effectiveness we’ve come to associate with Fairmont properties.

Beds were not the most comfortable

Tours like sunset hiking and Lake Louise tour are really great, as the guides are very professional. Location amd hotel are gorgeous, we pampered ourselves with this luxury destination

The Fairmont Banff was an absolutely GORGEOUS hotel, the view from the room was incredible, the staff was more than helpful from the second we checked in and throughout our stay. The views were phenomenal, the food was fantastic and we just felt like royalty. It wasn't just a hotel. It was an entire experience. We had a really wonderful time and made some great memories.

We were there for four nights but we wish it had been longer!

Everything was amazing. Every member of staff we spoke to was so friendly and welcoming, the hotel is so beautiful, the facilities and activities included amazing and the room was so comfortable. I couldn’t fault it at all. We didn’t want to leave!

Where do I start?? Our room was medium sized but very basic in facilities. There was one bedside locker. The guest on the other side of the bed had nowhere to leave a phone or a glass of water.There were six clothes hangers in a tiny closet which also housed an ironing board and a safe. That was the sum total of space for clothes, not one shelf. There were two small shallow drawers in the locker. Other than that zilch. We could not unpack our clothes. The bathroom was tiny. One squashed one’s knuckles every time one had to flush the toilet as the mechanism was under a shelf, which in itself was completely inadequate to hold a wash bag. Bed linen was a poor quality. Breakfast was quite a disaster. We were led to a table laid with just a mug and a cutlery wrapped in a napkin. The buffet was adequate but it took 25 minutes for our eggs to appear, almost causing us to be late for a tour. We were served chicken in the restaurant which was dreadful, the server took it from our bill when we complained. This hotel is not at all as it is marketed, it is a poor 3*

Beautiful property with a rich history and fabulous amenities. Great location, loved the 15 minute walk in and out of town. Staff were also extremely helpful in providing assistance in seeking medical attention for my grandmother.

The property is sprawling, so finding where you need to be is a little tricky. Better signage would help alleviate this problem.
