Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaElevator was a little slow at times We were on the top floor and I think the HVAC system needed servicing or something because there was a rattling noise off and on throughout the night that was loud.
Overall a good stay! We were in town for a music festival and this location was walking distance. Spacious suite that felt like our own little apartment on the top floor. Enjoyed the coffee maker and mini kitchen amenities. Nice attentive staff Great Shower, Nice bathtub Separate bedroom with a door was nice in our suite.

CanadaWe walked around downtown Edmonton all day and where looking forward to sitting in the lounge and having a nice drink before going up to our room for the evening, however, the drinks we received were well below our expectations and our previous experiences elsewhere. The Margarita we ordered was rimmed with sugar instead of the traditional salt, a nasty surprise! The Moscow Mule that we received was flat, watered down, and overly sweet. In fact, we did not even finish our drinks, we left very disappointed.
The breakfast in the morning was very good with a variety of items. Price was not included with the room, but if you ask, the front desk will give you a discount on the regular price when you check in.

United KingdomTv remote only had a set volume on it, and sometimes we could hear next doors conversations clearly through the walls.
The Matrix hotel was wonderful for the both of us, and we stayed for a whole week! Spacious rooms and comfortable to sleep in, with a great location for us both to travel in and out of town. We had breakfast on two occasions and it was fresh and delicious. Coffee, hot eggs and bacon as well as lots pastries, yoghurt and more. Staff were always helpful and I would recommend staying here.

CanadaParking was confusing. Definitely park up front by the doors before check in so you can get informed on all the spots available.
Great location close to many restaurants and big venues such as concerts. Easily accessible from main road. Breakfast was very good and the times offered were great.

CanadaThe price was a little high, and as I was leaving, I was waiting for a table out front and had to wait for a while till the cab got there due to some complications and we were hastled by security staff and told to leave the area except we couldn’tve gone anywhere due to all our luggage. Also, there was very little ability to find a convenient or comfortable and accessible place outside the hotel for people who smoke cigarettes and there was not really any alternative options as there was no balcony in our room and I’m assuming there wasn’t any another rooms with desk either Assuming that it is the same deal with all the other rooms.. so the only choice really is to smoke out side the hotel, I was also told by security staff to not sit where I was sitting to have a cigarette so I end up walking all the way across the street to where the picnic tables were in this little park, which was at least pretty cute anyways, but wish there was more space closer to the hotel. Also… i never did eat a breakfast from the hotel and was unsure if there was even a continental breakfast or not as there were no signs when it opened or closed. And I wanted to mention that they should have instructions on how to use the coffee machine in the rooms.
The hotel, very comfy, who is located a very convenient area close to places to shop. Was right across the street from a subway, which is where we had breakfast a couple times. There was a thing of cold water in the lobby, which was nice. The hotel was beautiful from the outside. The colours were vibrant and had a very appealing look to it. In the bathroom, there was really shampoo conditioner, they’re also was a thing of bath salts, which is something I’ve never seen before for complimentary hotel toiletries.

CanadaThe first night there was some people nearby that spoke quite loudly in the hallway. It woke me up and I barely slept the whole whole night. The noise came a few times. There were a few coffee pods provided. We did not use. But there was only one tea bag for both nights. Also there was only one bottled water for us to share. I wish there was a water kettle too. We ended up purchasing a traveling kettle and some bottles of water from London Drugs.
We both like the restaurant, even though we had to pay for the breakfast.

GermanyLocated near downtown Edmonton the hotel is within reach to everything you need. The room was big and clean and the bed comfortable, just the drain of the bathtub did not work that well. Moreover, I was surprised that you actually had to pay for the breakfast, so it is a little bit expensive in my opinion. All in all I had nice stay.
