How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The room was small and smelled. The wi-fi was not available. The guest beside my room had 2 dogs that were barking loudly all evening.
The restaurant’s food was good. However the breakfast buffet was not good at all. The food was stale and tastes bad. The water view was great.

The check- in gal was very fast and dismissive with us. She was not rude, just not warm or genuine. Other desk staff were great!
The location on the river was excellent. We also enjoyed one of their restaurants, Fluid. Sat outside with river view, enjoyed our attentive waitress,Summer. As we were not very hungry we shared an entré and had drinks- also excellent!

The bathtub needs re glazing and the bathroom could use a refresh.

My room was not fully clean. There was food in the fridge, a dirty towel in the tub, and the bed was out of place.
It is a nice hotel, in a nice location.

The expectation of a minimum of a 20% tip for any service. I am a good tipper but the expectation to start at 20% is unrealistic.

We would have liked to have seen a basic continental breakfast included in our stay. A side note it seemed that every time my wife went to fill up her water bottle the dispenser was on a cleaning cycle and dispensed warm water. This is probably just bad timing. The parking lot was being resurfacing on a very busy event weekend, also probably not the best timing.
The hotel and staff were very friendly and accommodating. We were happy to have a Starbucks on-site which made our mornings easier. We were within walking distance of our weekend destination which was great. The in-house bar was nice and our bartender awesome.

The bathroom is okay. The water pressure in the sure was really poor. Trying to arrange the reception was a bit challenging. The communication was initially quite poor. I didn't get a response and had to chase down personnel to get this arranged, which was quite stressful given that it was a reception for the funeral of a loved on.
I have stayed here many times. Very clean, beds are comfy. Lots of pillows. Location is excellent. Hotel is very clean. The restaurant and patio are wonderful. Cleaning staff were very good. We has a reception in the Simpson room, I believe. The room was lovely and the food was really good. Service was excellent. I appreciate Lindsey's help with planning.

the gas smell in the hallway, the furnishings that were a bit worn and the carpeting which did not seem fixed to the floor
The bed and pillows were comfy, room service was excellent (except the grapefruit juice - it was weird!). Staff were quite good, though I got the sense one faked reporting the smell of gas on my floor -- possibly because the source might have been the nearby construction site? But if so, then an explanation, an apology and reassurance around safety would be wise!

My room was closed to HVAC equipment which effect at view and comfy.

The breakfast was sadly over cooked and cold :(
The view was awesome, the room was comfortable, cozy and was a great fit for our family ! (Children aged 6 years - 1 month old ) Staff was amazing, friendly and professional. The hotel itself is very nice

There are snags in the carpet. There is black mold in the shower. The sheets are rough, and for that price, the rooms should be updated, in better condition, and the bedding should be great.
The front desk staff was excellent. Their customer service was A++++ They we helpful and warm. The bartender was really great too. The 8th floor room cleaners were amazing too.
