How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewVery cozy, extremely neat and clean. The owners were terrific and very solicitous to our every need. Could not have been more pleased with the attention they gave us.
Difficult entering the property walking over rock and sidling sideways around the HVAC system; however, something over which the owners have limited control. Sitting area in the common room limited to one small love seat with no lighting other than overhead. The two of us had difficulty sitting together; no other seating. More than two occupants would have an issue being in the same room. Plenty of bathroom towels, but no wash cloths.

It has been brought to our attention by other guest and we will sort it out. I am surprised that there isn’t a wash clot. We have a lot of those not sure if the cleaning team forgot to bring it out

A bit of noise from upstairs in the evenings, unfortunately this comes with a basement apartment. No designated parking spot. Difficulty to get heavy luggage to the road as the path is mostly large uneven stones.

Verified reviewThe location could not be better for our reservation! We were at spruce meadows all weekend and really enjoyed how close the property was!
Air conditioner was in the way of the sidewalk, gate latch had a cable on it with frayed metal ends which would poke out fingers when closing the gate quietly. Parking was not in front of the house and we were not told where we should park.

As for the parking situation, it says on the property description and amenities that there are free off-street parking right in front of the property. Parking off-street is absolutely free anywhere. Verified reviewCute little two bedroom. Bedrooms are a great size and washer and dryer available.
Living room and kitchen are smaller than the pictures make them appear. Tight area for two people. Landing as you come in the door very small with people and luggage. Walkway to side entrance was hard to manage with luggage. Especially in the snow. NO PARKING. With deep snow and cold had to park one vehicle down the road on the opposite side and the other around the corner. Not ideal for people with luggage in the snow. No amenities close AT ALL. Must drive to get food, shops, gas. Children upstairs and no real noise barriers between the suites. Homeowner complained that I had to move my car not 10 minutes after our arrival as I was blocking the garage. I was simply trying to unload my items safely.

The pathway towards the entrance of the suite was clear of debris and snow. As clearly mentioned on the description 1)there is plenty of free street parking next and across the property. 2)Amenities are a 5 min drive from the property, and 3) lastly it's also mentioned that a family is upstairs with small children you "may" hear ( although it is sound proofed and insulated) . The suite can accommodate up to 4 people, so there is more than enough space. Upon your arrival, you came with 2 vehicles, you decided to park in the driveway, and second car directly behind it. The vehicles were parked over 20 mins and you've already unloaded your luggage . As on the messages we exchanged I asked politely for the cars to be moved since it was blocking my car in garage. You did not respond, after 10 mins I came to knocked on the door, I introduced myself and kindly ask for your vehicles to be moved, since I was heading out. You refused to open the door, then I repeated myself, door open and answered by both of you. I showed you where you can park the cars, and it took another 5 mins for you to do so. Please before booking a stay at any property, carefully read through the description.

Verified reviewThis is a great cozy suite in a new neighborhood in Calgary we were unaware of as we recently sold our home and came back into town to say good bye to work colleagues. At first, we were not sure about the location given its proximity to downtown and in the end it was a great choice. The LRT is only 5 minutes away and being in the deep south made it easy to access everything around such as groceries and Costco within minutes. The suite is new and great Samsung appliances all worked great (we had pizza and a lasagna during our stay) and a large screen smart TV. Charity was very responsive and we think this place is so much better than getting a hotel at twice the cost and half the amenities. We look forward to staying again when we are back in town.
We enjoyed everything and shared some feedback on minor changes, but the overall experience was great!
