How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Although I realized the pool area was under renovation, I noticed that the pool and hot tub needed cleaning. Cleaning should not stop during upgrades. The change and shower cubicle was great.
I really appreciated that there was a good breakfast restaurant right on site and that there was a discount for guests. Bravo.

The pool was a bit cold. Need chairs that aren't so low at pool. Pillows in room need to be replaced.
Location and restaurant on site available for lunch or breakfast. Short drive to beach.

Property needs a better garbage disposal and recycling disposal for customers. No recycling facilities. Air conditioning units for rooms are getting dated. Room was a bit warm even with A/C units running. Garbage build up in room was distracting. Site needs larger outdoor covered garbage bins to help customers get rid of garbage they may generate. Ladies cleaning rooms need better garbage pick up equipment to get the garbage out of the rooms when doing their rounds. Existing outdoor garbage bins need to be monitored and maintained so they don't become overloaded.
The property has a customer paid restaurant attached to it. Excellant service and friendliness by the waiting staff.

The rooms are clean but really run down ,the air conditioner is so old Iam just glad it worked will we where there , but it was just ok 🙂

Your next upgrade should include removing the carpeting from the rooms. They would probably smell better too!
We spent our days on the beaches of Port Elgin and Sauble - so location and price were good.

Floor was dirty but was soon taken care of. Not all pillows had covers.
Convenient to everything. Not far to beach. Coffee provided all day.

disappointed went 3 times in the morning for coffee didnt open till after 730 gave us wrong coffee maker pool was freezing

On Check in there was only one person looking after booking people in and it was packed. She was very accommodating though and kept her cool, but you could tell she was getting a little bit overwhelmed. We were early for our booking so didn't mind waiting, but when our original room wasn't cleaned up, we had to go back to the office . My partner has dementia , so he was getting a little bit upset, but I got him settled down and the second room was excellent.
Breakfast was excellent and it is good that it is right in the building. The first room we were assigned had not been made up, so we had to change rooms, but the second room was great with a patio out back.

I didn't like the cold pool? Why wasn't it heated? The hot tub was dirty and didn't have railing to get in safely

Hot tub did not work for several days and then when it did work wasn’t very hot. There was a thick film of dirt around the entire hot tub. Don’t think it gets cleaned often

Need to manage up keep better Little things like replacing burntout light bulbs and fixing shower head Not sure why they didnt make up the room as we were there for 2 nights

The interior is outdated and needs some upgrading.
Easy access to MacGregor Point Provincial Park. We needed to get to the park early in the morning and the hotel was conveniently located across from Tim Horton's. The room was clean, tidy and well stocked, although a bit on the dated side. The price was right for a quick stay and it was nice there was a tea and coffee station by the front desk.
