Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaThe meal was exceptional in the morning. Old fashioned good cooking. We had a wonderful stay. Loved that Euston Street was only 10-25 minute walk to downtown and waterfront.

Very clean and welcoming. It is within walking distance for just about anything. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room had more amenities than I anticipated (microwave, mini fridge, hair dryer to mention a few) Roku tv was a plus👍🏻 The “just out of the oven” chocolate chip cookies were a wonderful introduction..

CanadaThe only perhaps drawback was just minor easy to fix things. Some of the finishes on our nightstands were incredibly worn, and the bathmat in our shower was getting a tad worse for ware. We notified the owners of these things during checkout, and they seemed interested in addressing the concerns.
The property is old, charming and cozy. It’s certainly not for the modern taste, but if you’re into Knick knacks, paintings, wallpaper and old hardwood throughout, this place is super cool!! This property was located just minutes walk outside of the downtown area, meaning it was quiet at all hours, but not far from anything. The staff were incredibly welcoming, and really provided my partner and I the first glimpse of true east coast hospitality we were in search of. When we checked in, Urma and her daughter greeted us, asked if we needed help with bags, showed us to our room, and even provided us some fresh baked chocolate chip cookies! The breakfast was very tasty, and while there were only three options on the menu (Veg and Cheese Frittata, French Toast, or Eggs and Toast), the meal was supplemented by a yogurt parfait, and a fresh warmed biscuit with butter. What impressed me most was that on our way out - the owner actually asked us how we liked our time in Charlottetown, and at his inn. We gave him our feedback, as he told us his family recently acquired the business. He showed care to make improvements necessary to keep his establishment safe and comfortable, while also making sure it keeps its charming and classic feel. I strongly encourage visiting the Colonial Charm inn!!

CanadaThe fact that the mattress was wrapped in a plastic protector under a very thin sheet proved to be very uncomfortable. We didn’t have a very good sleep.

United KingdomOn a side note, the name of the place did raise our eyebrows - romanticizing colonial history is not very helpful, especially when some of our travel group grew up in former colonies.
Location and breakfast was great, amenities were as promised on the website. Overall, we definitely got what we paid for. Staff was very friendly and welcoming.

Lives up to its name - it’s definitely charming. The breakfast was the best part of our stay, hands down! You can select your meal from a few options and it is cooked up with love. The lemon cake served before breakfast was our absolute fave! Delicious!

CanadaWe didn’t really have too many things to suggest as improvements. Put some hooks on the back of the bathroom door in room 7.
Staff were very friendly and accomodating. They are new owners and are doing a great job getting their business going. The location is fantastic. It’s an easy 10 minute walk to downtown.

CanadaWe had 2 rooms. The rooms were small. The upstairs room had a very tiny bathroom. The main floor room was small also but the bathroom was very spacious and nicely updated. Understand that this is a very old house. Pricey. The reviews on the breakfast were over rated. It was just okay.
Location was good. The breakfast was served family style and the food was good but not exceptional as the reviews had indicated. May be because there are new owners.

CanadaThe building is old but gold. The floors squeaks, but that’s part of the charm of vintage structures. I’m giving it an almost perfect score because of the story behind the new owners—the two girls who’ve been running the inn since June 2025. They’re exhausted every day, yet they keep going. Kudos to their parents for their training. Breakfast was nice, and the service made us feel at home. The location was perfect for us. The room was small, but we only needed a place to sleep and my husband and I love trying old hotels or colonial homes converted into inns—it was fun.

AustraliaPossible improvements would be nicer quality furniture in the room, as it felt a bit hodge podge / IKEA and lessened the “colonial charm” aspect that the B&B is marketed as.
The accommodation is largely as described, location is fantastic and so easy to walk downtown from there and back after dinner. The room was spacious and air conditioning made for a comfortable stay. All staff were very nice to interact with, welcoming and friendly.
