We have been there several times in the last twenty years, and this time I found the hotel a little bit neglected. The carpets in the hallways and stairs were old and the paint in our room and common areas was a bit chipped in places.

I love the location and the ambiance of a boutique hotel.

Quite rundown. Could do with a refurb or at the least a coat of paint on the marked walls. Smallest bed we’ve ever slept in at a hotel. Breakfast was very lean and most days you could hear guests requesting the coffee and hot water be refilled.

The location was good. Close to subway just a block away and buses on your doorstep. Fine Arts Museum just up the road.

There was a strange smell in our room at times. It was a musty kind of moldy, or wet carpet kind of smell.

Location, the quirkiness of the hotel and the breakfast was pretty good.

First night we were given the worst room in the hotel. It was a cold basement room without light and right next to the cleaning room. The room never warmed up no matter how high we turned up the heater that by the way was only one and inside the bathroom, so we couldn't sleep and early in the morning, the noise from conversations, machinery, and moving objects from the cleaning room next door made it even worse. Initially, the person in the front desk told us the hotel was fully booked for the entire weekend and we could request a refund and look for another hotel but that all hotels around that area were fully booked (in the middle of the worst snow storm of the season). We were deeply disappointed and concerned. It was our anniversary, and the situation was beyond unprofessional. Luckily, when the supervisor arrived, we got moved to a room on the 4th floor, and our stay dramatically changed, as well as our opinion of the hotel and following actions. Thank you for addressing and fixing the issue. We will be staying at the hotel again and recommending it.

Small detail: if Montreal-style bagels had been on offer in the breakfast buffet, we would have been in seventh heaven! (We enjoyed the food offerings nonetheless.)

This charming small hotel offers value for money, and delivers on its fabulous location and exceptionally gracious and attentive service from all staff members. Kudos to the staff!

The main area for improvement is the breakfast “lounge”. The room is too small and it seems a bit “improvised” (not purpose designed/built). Everything else was excellent. Keep up the good work!

Breakfast (included in price) was very unimpressive. I guess a basic breakfast is fine but coffee was awful. Gotta have good coffee! Fruit salad was pre-packaged. Why not serve Quebec-grown apples and promote “Quebec local”? Cereal included Froot Loops, among other standard cereals. Really? Staff came in once in a while to clean up so service could be stepped up there, too.

Excellent location. Our rooms were quiet. While the hotel needs refreshing (is very tired looking), it was very pleasant and comfortable. At the end of the day a good night’s sleep is paramount and it delivered!
