Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BelgiumSince our suite was on the ground floor, we did notice some noise from the rooms above. Also, in the hallways leading to the upper floors, there was a faint smell reminiscent of a litter box.
We stayed in the Garden Suite on the ground floor, which had its own private entrance leading into the front garden. The suite was spacious and tastefully decorated, though a few pieces of furniture seemed oddly placed. The jacuzzi and fireplace were definite highlights. The rest of the building still exudes the grandeur of its past, and little touches like complimentary treats and water in the library and one of the breakfast rooms made it feel extra welcoming. Communication with the staff was excellent, even though we arrived outside regular check-in hours. Through WhatsApp videos, they clearly showed us where to find our room, the key, parking, and more — truly top-notch service! The B&B is set on a quiet residential street, within walking distance of the Inner Harbour and Beacon Hill Park, with plenty of free parking available. Breakfast was very good.

United KingdomNot for you if a harbour view is a must.
The staff were very friendly and the breakfast service, food quality and presentation exceptional. The room was clean and tidy. We had the family room, which had plenty of room for us and it also had a fridge and microwave. This room is on the ground floor, so we even had a private gate to enter and leave. There were free nibbles in the lounge and the whole house is kept in the original Edwardian style from when it was first built. The house has its own parking and even though it was full, there was always space for everyone's vehicles. We often left the car parked as it's within easy walking distance of local shops on Cooke Street (about 7mins.) and the city centre, which is only 15mins. on foot. This must be one of the best B&Bs I have stayed in.

United StatesCan't think of a thing to make this any better!
The house and grounds are beautiful and well maintained, the stafff was very warm, friendly, accomodated our bicycles, even put flowers in our room for our Anniversary, and the breakfast room was bright and cheery, the table elegant and the food was excellent! I've already recommended Beaconsfield to several friends and family. We'd come here again any day!

CanadaCould have used more blankets for bed (for weight and comfort). Note: There was no air conditioning but we did stay cool in our room (and a plug in fan was available if we had needed it).
The Inn was really a lovely historic building with much character. The bed was comfortable. The shower was great. The breakfast was exceptional. Staff were very attentive, friendly and helpful. We started the day with jogging through Beacon Hill park amongst the deer. Walked to Royal theatre to see a matinee musical. Wandered to Cooke Street Village for coffee and bookstore. We even walked (30 mins) through town to dinner on inner harbor. Appreciated not having to drive in downtown traffic!

CanadaLocation was fantastic. Rooms were lovely and cool during a hot week (we were in the ground floor). It was so nice to have a separate room with 2 single beds for our children, plus a couch and kitchen. Super convenient location and great parking (we had an enormous rented SUV). Will definitely stay again

CanadaThere wasnt coffee available, only at breakfast. Its only a minor complaint though. Just a bit different than I am used to. There was tea and snacks though. I could walk about 5 min to get coffee from a shop in the morning and it was pleasant.

United KingdomThe wifi was rather slow and a bit more flexibility on breakfast timing (8.30am as the earliest time can compromise leaving for a long day of activities or travel)
The room (or should I say suite) was excellent and in character with the rest of this historic building. The staff were very helpful and friendly and we liked the touches like free ice and a glass of wine

A vintage Victorian house, refurbished very well, and outfitted for modern travelers. The host was very friendly, the breakfast provided was 1st class & the house was close to the main attractions of Victoria. An easy walk (< 1 mile) to the main areas of interest.
