Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesGerald and Angelique are the most generous and gregarious hosts. The property is stunning. The dinner and breastfast were delightful. I slept so well in a lovely room. I had coffee on the porch with the sounds of birds and threads of french laughter coming from the kitchen. The smell of phlox wafted through the air. It was heaven on earth.

Beautiful location and charming house. The family suite has a lot of space, with two rooms, two bathrooms and a small living room. We especially appreciated the relaxing atmosphere and the kindness of the owners. We would definitely come back to the auberge Pour un instant

CanadaSqueaky doors and woods are due to old structure, but it can also be a charming point of this place.
Responsive owner and their impeccable service, clean room, delicious breakfast, nice location on the uphill near Malbaie, beautiful garden with outdoor sitting places, and access to jacuzzi.

CanadaOur only minor complaint was that you could hear our neighbours next door. They got a bit loud in the later evening when we were settling in for the night. The hosts do their best to keep things quiet since the auberge is not sound proof, which is to be expected for such a vintage structure, but we would not expect guests to be so noisy. Thankfully, it was short-lived.
This classic French Canadian style bed and breakfast is a charming little gem tucked away in the beautiful countryside of Charlevoix and is about a 10 minute drive from La Malbaie. The hosts were delightful, very accessible and most accommodating. The auberge is cozy, clean and comfortable with a very homey and welcoming atmosphere. Our room was small but very clean and cutely decorated with a woodland feel. The bed was very comfortable. In the small reception area there is a little boutique offering local products including soap and candles. On arrival you are asked to choose among the soaps to use during your stay and can also be purchased for use at home. There is also a small gym and a hot tub for guest's use. But the "piece de resistance" was the unexpected bonus that their kitchen is a creperie and not only includes breakfast crepes for its guests but also offers an evening menu! Also, if you are lucky enough to be there on the weekend (sadly, we were not) there is live music on selected Saturdays. One of the hosts happens to also be the very skilled crepe chef and a member of the band! The curious name of the auberge becomes easily understood once you realize the hosts' love of music, especially of a particular local Quebecois group. Feeling tired after a day of travel to arrive at the auberge, we decided not to venture out as we had originally planned. Instead, we stayed to enjoy what ended up being a simply fabulous dinner on our first evening. The duck confit crepe with emmenthal, apples and walnuts and an assortment of thoughtfully arranged fresh and colourful local garnishes and sides was delectable and our wine selection was also excellent. The breakfast crepes were also absolutely delicious! The savoury or sweet choices were made to perfection as well as generously embellished with a variety of fresh fruits and of course a side of maple syrup!

CanadaNothing. Every bit of it was nice.
The hosts were some of the most amazing people we met on our trip. They were very attentionnate, kind and respectfull and they had prepared a few surprises for us (hand crafter soap, caramel popcorn, natural maple water shampoo...) that all was included in the price of the room. The room was super clean, the included breakfeast was delicious and we even had access to a small gym and a spa. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to have a great sleeping experience on their trip.

CanadaVery cozy and well located hostel, when I chose to stay at this place, I thought the "musicale" was just a meaningless word. Once we got there, my son started to notice all the music themed decorations. As a music student, he was super happy. The hostel is well taken care of by the owners, who pay attention to every detail, both in the place itself and with the guests. We felt welcome from the moment we left home until the last minute of our stay. The room was very tidy, clean and comfortable enough to have a good night of sleep. We enjoyed some relaxing moments at the jacuzzi, we played ping pong and they had some card/board games in the living room, like Uno, Jenga, spot it, etc, a nice way to spend some time with my son. The breakfast was just delightful. I am vegan and Angelique made a sarrasin crepe for me, with their homemade apple compote with walnuts. Thank you so much for that :) My son ate the sea salt caramel crepe and he said it was one of the best crepes he has ever eaten. As proof, he ate almost everything and usually he eats like a baby bird . Finally, Angelique invited my son to play some violin during her concert ❤️ amazing! Thank you Angelique and Gerard for the wonderful weekend we had at your hostel :)
