Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe windows weren't actual glass so the noise from the bar is more noticeable until about midnight. I am a night person so it didn't bother me, but recommend earplugs if you're trying to sleep early. A light blanket could have been helpful, it was cooler at night.
Nice stay in perfect location for Caye Caulker. Great choice for an adventurous week on the island as the villa has everything you need. It was quite large and full of amenities-- kitchen with fridge and microwave, coffee maker, plenty of dishes/cutlery, etc. I had 2 beds, plenty of storage options, ceiling fan, table with seating, large bathroom area included tub/shower. Right across from the Villas is a good bar/restaurant that I enjoyed a few times, and also for takeout. The island is small enough that anything and everything you could possibly need is within 5-15 minutes walking. I did not find it necessary to have a golf cart. I would certainly stay again.

AustraliaI barely had any sleep for the three nights I stayed at this hotel as the restaurant across the road plays music, sometimes until midnight and then patrons stay on in the area around making more noise. Although it's not that loud, you can hear it all as the room only has shutters which do not block out any sound. As it's a busy area, things start to get noisy again from about 6.30-7pm. If I was to stay in Caye Caulker again I would find somewhere away from the busy area as it seems that rooms are not sound-proof. Even ear plugs did not block out the sound.
Friendly and helpful staff; when a promised coffee maker was not in the room, I was provided with a portable stove top which at least enabled me to heat water for coffee etc. The TV did not work and I was told that a new one was to be installed but this did not happen. Air conditioner worked well. Free water during the office hours. Bed was comfortable. Location is very good for access to the ferry, restaurants and tour providers - BUT... SEE BELOW.

CanadaThe grounds are a bit rough, but that's sort-of the norm on Caye Caulker - rough around the edges. The room was very small for 3 people, with no storage for suitcases/cloths etc. Tight stay, but well priced given how expensive this little island is.
Great location right in the middle of the action at Caye Caulker. Powerful AC, arctic like despite the 30C weather. Really friendly and helpful host (thank you Alina!).

CanadaThe noise. The restaurant across the street plays music until midnight every night and there is no soundproofing/glass on the windows (only shutters).
The rooms are large with all the amenities you would want. Showers have hot water.

United StatesA bit loud due to the bar across the street. But also, there's a bar across the street for close food options.
Inexpensive, cozy hotel in Caye Caulker and close to the water taxi. Double queen beds available. The hotel manager is very lovely and did her best to accommodate our requests.

BelizeNo swimming pool :-) but got direction to a pool with public access.
Central location— close walk from/to the water taxi terminal. Restaurants, banks, golf cart rental, grocery stores and tour companies nearby. Manager was very hospitable and accommodating. Our friend had a day-long snorkeling tour up to 4:00 p.m. and check out time was 11:00 a.m. They were not so busy and let us keep a room for several extra hours at no charge. Really considerate. 🤩

IsraelDon't plan to sleep before 1am or so. The pub/restaurant next door plays loud music and the room has poor noise insulation.

United StatesThe hotel staff exceeded our expectations with their friendliness and willingness to assist. They promptly provided extra towels upon request, offered restaurant recommendations, and even supplied bottled water, including a 5-gallon cooler bottle for refills. Conveniently located within walking distance of the water taxi, the hotel sits on a quieter side street off the main bottleroad. Across the street, there are two restaurants/bars, and a fantastic pizzeria is right next door. Noise was never an issue during our nine-day stay, as the bars typically quieted down around 10 pm. The room and property were impeccably clean, featuring a comfortable kitchenette and beds. A private balcony and a charming gated courtyard with a picnic table added to the appeal. Any concerns about safety expressed by a previous reviewer were unfounded and really absurd; both locals and staff were exceptionally welcoming and hospitable. We're already planning our return trip and will undoubtedly choose to stay here again.

United StatesThe back bedroom was great, but it was hard to use the futon in the front room. The hotel is across the street from a restaurant which hosts a Happy Hour from 9 - midnight. You could hear the music and the patrons easily when in the front room, which made it impossible for the kids to sleep in that space. The A/C was also in the back room and the front stayed quite warm even when the door between the spaces was open. We ended up moving the futon mattress to the back room so that everyone could sleep.
The space was exactly as presented. It was clean and the air conditioning was excellent. The beds were comfortable, as well.

United KingdomKitchenette only has micro and coffee maker, nowhere to heat water. No bottle opener (!) Very dusty on balcony but that's not their fault, the whole island is dusty. And for me it was too noisy in the evening as right opposite restauarants.
Staff very welcoming and helpful. Comfy bed. Good sized room. Nice shower and towels.

CanadaI didn’t like the constant roar of the diesel generator! Have you given any thought to solar energy? I was amazed how efficient your traffic control was. Perhaps if you added an occasional grader it would not be so!
What breakfast? Did I miss something? A little more ‘beach vice’ would have been appreciated. Perhaps more comfortable beach chairs and a common lounge areas to meet and greet fellow travellers?

United StatesInsufficient cooking utensils. I could have asked for some, but didn't, so that was my bad, not theirs.
Location, price, owner. My quarters had a kitchen, which was nice for breakfasts and lunch. Roy's restaurant across the road had excellent food, and enough for a leftover lunch. The owner took me to the water taxi in her golf cart. It was very close, 2 blocks, but it had rained and was muddy.
