We had an unforgettable stay at the Barracuda Boutique Hotel in Itacaré. The restaurant is without a doubt the best in town, offering refined and creative cuisine, an outstanding cocktail bar, and a varied, delicious homemade breakfast. The staff is exemplary: attentive, welcoming, and always available to organize excursions or share valuable advice on activities in the region. A special thanks to Anna and Brenda for their patience and kindness. The rooms are very comfortable, and the Scandinavian-inspired décor, thought through in every detail, creates an elegant and warm atmosphere where you immediately feel at ease. The hotel also offers a wonderful view of the fishing boats, and its ideal location, close to the town center, makes it easy to reach the beaches, restaurants, and shops of Itacaré on foot. A unique place where you truly feel at home, and one that is hard to leave.

Gorgeous, beautiful and at the same time intimate and romantic. A few years ago we stayed in Vila Barracuda the more expensive hotel and loved it - but we loved more this smaller hotel of the group. We had the master sea and river suite on the second floor- a stunning large room with the most comfortable bed, best shower, big terrace overlooking a stunning view. The staff - so nice and attentive. The food delicious - compliments to the chef. Best location in Itacare. Everything was just super perfect.

Only suggestion of improvement would be around kitchen/bar hours - not available at 2pm when we tried to order (but appreciate it might be a reflection of property size)

The property has about 11 rooms and feels cosy and private (my concern when booking was the pool area’s size which wasn’t an issue at all). A lot of attention has been given to interior design and it is a great example of beautiful contemporary Brazilian architecture (modern and warm). Service, drinks and food were excellent. Having been most recently to the Conrad in Koh Samui I felt no material difference in my experience. Well done team Barracuda!

The only challenging part about the property is the parking. There is no designated parking. But we didn’t have too much trouble finding a spot within walking distance of the hotel at any point, so it wasn’t a huge downside.

Amazing place! It is in kind of an odd location when you enter it from the front. But the back side opens up directly onto the beachfront boardwalk and everything at the property is absolutely beautiful and incredible. This is a great option to stay and really amazing for the price!

Take ear plugs and noise cancelling headphones, but that kind of is a requirement for most of the hotels I stayed in whilst in Itacare. My room was on ground level. Right next to the front door. So an early night wasn’t an option as people arriving for or leaving after dinner were a constant, up to 11pm; but hey! You are in Brazil! Breakfast started at 7am, therefore staff arrived around 6-6.30am. This was my one true irritation as I got up for breakfast at 7 because I had been woken (though the staff try to be as quiet as they can), but the majority of guests came down from 8:30 onwards so I didn’t feel it necessary to wake possibly most of the guests from 6:30am. My bedroom was essentially in the hallway leading to the open plan ground floor consisting of reception, living area, dining and kitchen, so noise was at an optimum. It was called a suite. In the UK a suite usually means a seprate area with sofa, or a much larger room than a standard. My first room was standard, the 2nd a ‘suite,’ which was exactly the same, slightly bigger with a chair. Please note, there are no views for any ground room floors. A small patio garden with the road beyond. The upstairs rooms have terraces, though I didn’t visit these and I’m not sure they would be any less noisy as the sea facing ones are directly above the restaurant.

Excellent central location, with fishing bay in front of hotel, a short walk to swimming beaches. Lovely home like feel. A lovely lady learned very quickly I was vegan and gluten free; I couldn’t speak Brazilian Portuguese, but she started cooking me fantastic vegan omelettes from Tapioca packed with vegetables which I was extremely grateful for. The staff were very friendly and Barbara spoke excellent English which was a huge help for me as barely any English is spoken in this area. The food was lovely, though there was a lack of vegetarian options and vegan. I ordered Palm Heart spaghetti ‘Veggie’ option but they simply removed the shrimps and the sauce tasted very strongly of shrimp. A small thing but, nevertheless, it wasn’t vegetarian. Otherwise the staff can’t do enough for you. The hotel was very clean, lovely decor. In all I loved the relaxed atmosphere of the hotel, swimming pool is tiny, more a dip to cool off. Lovely comfortable seating around it too. As this is essentially a surfing town, it’s a great hotel to come back from the beach to. Very clean, top class staff and good food if you eat fish and meat.
