How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Gorgeous property with wonderfully comfortable rooms, great breakfast and the nicest staff. Neighborhood is very quiet but walking distance to cool bars and very central for ubering

Pool could’ve been cleaner
We had a great time at Refúgio 755! Location is ideal near major beaches in Floripa, and the Lagoa area. Owner and breakfast lady were very friendly, and the breakfast was simple but delicious! The view from the room is very peaceful. Highly recommend!

Nothing that I could think about right now.
The facilities in the hotel and the placement nearby Florianópolis, Lagoa and places of interest were ideal for choosing different activities daily. Moreover, the staff was kind and thoughtful about every need you would have. The rooms were clean, cozy and well equipped with air conditioning.

I suggest leaving a bottle of coffee available to guests as there are no restaurants/cafes nearby.
The breakfast is fair, with freshly brewed coffee, but no express coffee. Could have more fruits.

Very nice place located between the laguna and praia Joaquim. Friendly owner and staff, good breakfast and a clean and nice room. Car parking is secure inside the property, definitely a good place to stay

The room is a bit small. We had to spend sometime indoors due to rainy weather.
The staff was very friendly and helpful in telling us about good restaurants and island attractions. Breakfast was good.

I booked a superior room with lake view, slightly more expensive. However I was given another one (the room n4) with view on some houses and alleys at the back. I noticed when I had already unpacked, so I decided not to ask the owner. In my opinion he should have paid attention to this detail, it’s customer care. I still give a 10 cos I’m nice :), but I wasn’t particularly happy about it.
I loved the kindness of the lady preparing breakfast.

Parking and maneuvering the car can be a bit tricky with the steep curve to enter/exit.
Andre was a great host. The room was clean, had A/C, TV, and it was pretty spacious. Nice breakfast every day. We felt like at home.

This has been the best accommodation we stayed in - in all Brazil. The host and the complete staff is very welcoming and warm-hearted. The breakfast is very good. The best thing are the rooms and the place itself: they are very well thought through, big enough, smart shelf space, wooden interieur, big mirror, fridge, very comfy beds, nice shower, smart TV, hammock on the balcony. Also the whole house and the surroundings are well taken care of and look beautiful. Just all the details work nicely together here and that is not the standard in all the places!

Not for noise sensitive people ... The sideroad might need a sound barrier against noisy neighbours' cars and motorbikes ... the lights in the rooms are very basic ....

There was a problem with bugs in the first room I was in , upstairs . The ceilings are all wood and I let the manager know I believe there are termites . The rooms are cleaned daily, but this made me uncomfortable, as I could see the droppings . I think this hotel is less suited for solo travel than other accommodations in the area but I wouldn’t say that’s a fault of the hotel . The owners did move me to another room when it was available.
The cook/ cleaning lady , Laynie, Isa sweetheart . Breakfast is nice . The location is easy to get around / Uber is cheap.
