Fantastic staff. Excellent breakfast. Posada is off the beaten path and just what we wanted. The pool was a bonus too.

The rooms were a bit small and humid, windows should have mosquito nets to prevent spiders and other bugs from entering the room. The ac was super noisy.

Breakfast was complete, full of different options. The pool was great and well located. The staff were very helpful, understood everything we asked and were always available. The bed super comfortable.

Slightly old fashioned hotel, the rooms weren’t the cleanest. We booked as there was a swimming pool advertised which only opened on the last night. The reception staff kept bothering me prior to the stay to get me to book with them directly instead of going through booking.

Nothing, but visitors should be aware in this wet tropical climate it’s difficult to keep the environment mould free, crisp and dry. Also that most properties on the island are low key so 4 or 5 star hotel luxury not the norm.

Lovely and quiet on the edge of the jungle. Property has vintage charm. Friendly, English speaking reception staff. Easy walking distance from town. Nice pool. Delicious breakfast.

Bathroom is quite basic and was not working properly

The posada is set in a beautiful tropical garden in a quite neighbourhood. Beds are superb. Rooms super clean. Great breakfast and friendly staff.

Such a lovely place - a real paradise with a beautiful swimming pool and gardens. I liked the balconies to the rooms and hammocks too

1. The rooms are in need of renovation. 2. Internet could be provided in the rooms. 3. It would be great if the hotel had a restaurant for dinner/lunch.

1. Good breakfast. 2. Great pool with great jungle views. 3. Internet works well in common areas (does not work in rooms). 4. The staff speaks English. On our dates the manager was very friendly and helped us pay for the transfer with her personal card as our cards weren't working. 5. The location of the hotel in the distance, in the jungle, in a quiet and beautiful place. 6. There is air conditioning, however noisy.

the place was really beautiful, it was away from the main streets where there is many people yet near to it. Really nice staff and the breakfast was good!

It’s a bit overpriced for what you get - which is the same as most posadas on the island. The pool is nice if you actually use it, although there is on morning sun. Wifi was unusable in our room (#4) and you get luke warm water at best.

Decent posada in a quiet part of the town. The greenery and the pool on the property was nice and the breakfast was very simple, but sufficient.

Everything was great. The main room of our apt had an air conditioner which was a little loud at night but we shut the door and turned on the bedroom air so wasn’t a major concern.

Close to the town center but hidden in natural surroundings. Quaint but satisfied all our needs.

It is among the worth room I have ever slept in. It's old, ridiculously small and all this for a crazy price (probably inflated by the long week end). I was working in the room and no one came to ask if they could do the room or change the towels, when I went out, I have ask at what time the cleaning will be done, they told me it was too late. I have ask if at least the towels could be changed, they said "sure, no problem". When I came back, nothing was done.

Not easy to say... maybe the localisation and the breakfast just to say something positive

Pousada Recanto is located in a oasis of green, yet very close to the main village. It's very well kept, nice and quite and super clean. The staff is super friendly and very helpful. We're especially greatful for Crokidakis who patiently helped us with making phone calls to retrieve our lost luggage, booking tours and tips for things to do around the island. We would've stayed here longer if our itinerary allowed us and we would definitely come back text time we visit Ihla Grande.

absolutely loved the place. the staff is friendly and attentive, the landscaping is beautiful, it’s a quiet side street tucked away in the jungle yet only a 5 minute walk from restaurants and pier. breakfast is amazing. nice chill spots by the pool or hammock to unwind after a day of exploring

Aircon not the best, room was always quite warm and horrible drain smell in the bathroom.

Very helpful staff, beautiful place and scenery. Enjoyed breakfast watching a hummingbird every morning. Afternoon coffee and cake made it!

We liked everything :)

Beautiful pousada with a nice pool and lush gardens. Very peaceful. the staff are really great and helped us book a boat trip and plan how to get to Lopes Mendes. We enjoyed breakfast and afternoon cake/coffee. It is quiet and a 10 minute walk from the main streets. This suited us.
