Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RussiaThere was a big dead cockroach, which was laying there under the bed all 5 days of staying. For the first time in my life I've seen a plastic pillow, and paid for that 90$/night (new year prices).
The staff was nice. The location is also perfect.

OmanRoom was very very basic and many mosquitoes. Many people staying there seem to be local "live in" guests. Not comfortable at breakfast- very crowded in a cramped room. No tourist information or other tourists- even the receptionist, Aurilene, very rudly and aggressively said to us as we tried to check in - I dont speak English. It is a hotel, right? Unbelievable- not a nice way to start a holiday. Receptionist Marcio quickly spoke to us and was friendly.
Beautiful historical building and central location. We got the balcony room- nice to have view of the street.

United KingdomThe double bed was made with three single sheets widthwise which separated when used to reveal a dirty yellow mattress. Overall not a great sense of cleanliness.
Outside of the building is (deceptively) pretty. Location is fine, close to the metro and walking distance from the beach and restaurants open late (handy for a late arrival). Breakfast was fine.

ColombiaDo NOT stay here, here’s why: • Cleanliness: - There were COCKROACHES in our room. - The floor had NOT been BROOMED, nor swept. Just went we got into the room, I tried walking barefoot and my feet got dirty in 4 steps. - Some very visible places in the room had not been cleaned in a long time. The air conditioning thing was covered in dust. • Tranquility: - We could HEAR EVERY NOISE (including SEX NOISES) from the room next to ours and even across the hall! - Almost none. Even with the windows closed ( as we don’t like mosquitoes getting in) we got SMELL OF WEED and cigarette smoke in our room, this happened three times during our stay (which was only two nights). • Amenities: - You CANNOT TURN ON THE AIR conditioning whenever you want, you have to call the reception (but the PHONE DIDN’T WORK). The only time we could turn it on it made a strong noise. - For two people we got: two small soap bars, only one towel, no hair conditioning, no shampoo. Very poor quality toilet paper, it was almost transparent. - TV only had like 15 channels. Mostly news in Portuguese. • Breakfast: - The place you see in their photos looks nice and cozy but it’s really uncomfortable. There’s NOT ENOUGH SPACE for everyone and you have to move for people to sit and move again if they want to stand up. Only two people can serve themselves at a time. - NOT ENOUGH OPTIONS. No eggs, no sausage, no ‘protein’ apart from ham. The good things: - Night shift guy was very kind.

United StatesRoom was in the back. It was not easy to turn on the AC. I had to jump on the bed to be able to reach the power button.
Location is good. Staff watch you eat your breakfast from the kitchen. One lady approached me to let me know the buffet is "all-you-can-eat"; however, coffee should be limited to one cup only... I didn't like to hear that, and I thought it was embarrassing.

United StatesThere is nothing I like about the hotel . I booked for double room and they gave me a triple family room with no room for movement . Their sheet was dirty . Their bathroom is narrow and cranky . On the reception there was a woman with big eye glasses . She was grampy and almost hostile . I would never recommend anyone to stay here . Their breakfast was also basic with no many options .
Location is kind of central .

BrazilMy first dislike was the lack of a decent separation of the shower area and the rest of the bathroom where there was only a plastic curtain to prevent the water from the shower from invading the rest of the bathroom.............and every shower wet the entire bathroom. Breakfast is the second item I did not like. There two juices, one appeared to be orange juice but I am not sure. The other looked like cashew juice made from a concentrate. Here in Brazil people shop for bread rolls daily but those that were available did not seem to be very fresh. The options for breakfast were limited and ,for me, not a breakfast to enjoy but simply to fill one's belly.
The positive point for this hotel is that it is right opposite the Republic Museum where one can safely rest and stroll around during the day. The staff of the hotel were friendly always.
