How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Location is good but around 10 minutes minutes to the centre of Paraty We happened to leave a jacket behind when checking out. We tried to contact the hostel to see if we had left the jacket there but it took then two days and numerous messages from us in order for then to respond. At that point we could not go back to the hostel to retrieve the jacket. The communication in general was a bit hard Our room was exactly in between the courtyard and the kitchen, so everyone had to go by our room, which implied some extra noise
Very good value for money, the place is cozy and has a home feeling. It is clean. The private room we've got which was a family room, was spacious. The kitchen area had everything needed to cook meals. The swimming pool seemed nice although we did not use it The staff was very nice

Really nice place to stay as a solo traveller, which I was. The staff were very friendly, helpful and kept the place beautifully clean.

There were only volunteers on site. None of which were around before 10am. Hard to get any local information. A lot of guests for only 3 bathrooms/ toilets.
My dorm was large with plenty of fresh air with large sliding doors and open window onto a large terrace. Lots of outside seating area around the pool. Well stocked kitchen. 10 mins walk to the bus station and supermarkets.

The bunkbeds are made of metal which means they move quite a lot when either person moves

I like how they have curtains for every set of bunk beds. Outlet for every bed. Good social area. Very comfortable pillow.

I liked everything except that the bed was very shaky. When climbing into the top bunk it almost tipped over

I enjoyed my stay at Hostel Morada do sol. It is very close to the city center and there are a lot of restaurants and shops nearby. The dorm was comfy, with AC and curtains. The staff working there were so helpful and recommended many places in Paraty.

She (Epifania) broke the spaghetti, so she decided to start a war against 🇮🇹
Good quality price..the hostel is big and has different spaces where to chill or work for example..Also Epifania the volunteer is very good person and helpful but..

The owner is extremely friendly and helpful. I was hit by a car and then Patricia came to hospital and accompanied me for 6 hours for all checks and later she bought the medicine and helped to clean my wound almost everyday! Thank you and I was very lucky to meet you in a foreign country. Besides, it is very clean with a big kitchen.

My room (Family room right at the kitchen) had a really old A/C which was extremly noisy and hardy to reach to turn it on and off. Not a big deal as it didn't get too hot at night but should be replaced in the future.
Really clean and comfortable Hostel in walking distance to the gorgeous center of Paraty. Bed is comfortable, the kitchen area is very well equiped and there is even drinking water for free. The hosts and volunteers are always available to help and answer questions.

The 6 persons bunk bed room is on the way to other rooms. Still the curtains gives you better privacy than in other bunk bed rooms and other visitors were cautious of the noise at night, so it was not a real inconvenient! Don't forget a repellant, there can be quite a lot of mousquitoes! ;)
Excellent stay at Morada do Sol hostel. Owners and volunteers are extremely helpful and nice. The property is extremely well taken care of, it's very clean and the common areas are very enjoyable. Thanks for making my stay so convenient, your advices and keeping my luggage during the day! I had a great time there!
