Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe LOVED our stay! Mirtes and her family were wonderful hosts. We felt completely at home and instantly relaxed. We loved the location at the top of the hill - and all of the local recommendations. The rustic vibe was very much our style and it was great to have a kitchen to prepare meals. We also loved the animals - especially Billie-Jean the cat! It was great that Rodrigo could help us with tours (and that he and Lua spoke such great English). Seeing so many turtles and sharks was really special. We travelled around the island by bus (which was super easy - the bus stop is near) and were grateful for the tips of where to get off for maximum beach access. The room was super comfortable. Thank you!!!!

BrazilNada! It was a stunning accommodation. Well-manicured and most truly loved and cared for.
The lush garden, rooftop, landscape and hammocks were incredible. But the room was the most special-they even painted my name outside of it to welcome me there!! The room was my haven and beautiful decorated with plants and paintings by the owners. I was blown away at how much care they took to make it special! Exceptional value in this perfectly located gem. It is above and beyond!

GermanyThe bedroom is a bit cramped.
A very warm welcome with beautiful decoration in an artist's house. There is a lot to discover! Lots of light and air and love in every corner. The location is great for supermarkets, restaurants, cafes, bus stop and the best bistro almost right next door.

AustraliaMirtes is a wonderful host and so is her husband. The place is full of colour. We were early birds and not having breakfast there was not a major issue as we went up to the bakery at the top of the hill they opened at 6:00 a.m. and their food was wonderful. There is a place next door but it doesn't open the 7:30 a.m. There is a good supermarket close by too and plenty of choices for food down at the local restaurants 200 m away

BrazilIt could have an external shower to clean the sand, but this doesn’t affect the experience.
Great stay! Mirtes and Elio were really careful and the place was cozy. We loved to stay there and plan to go back.

GermanyOne of the most adorable accomodations i've ever stayed at. The owner is super nice and gives the place a special touch. The garden and common area are lovely with lots of decoration and seating possibilities. Bed is very comfortable and the a/c works great. I can highly recommend Casa de Mirtes and hope to be able to come back one day.

BelgiumThis place is really special. Don't expect a new place, it isn't. It's a quite old building made very charming. In its genre, it's wonderful. I especially enjoyed the calm and the tranquility. The cleanliness and the warm atmosphere, combined with a well working airco.

United KingdomThe room had to be closed up (to keep mosquitos out & air con cooling in) which made it a rather dark little space. But a minor point.
An green and welcoming oasis in walking distance to the best of everything around 'downtown' FdN. Mirtes is an ever-smiling hostess (who even did some clothes washing for me) and pays particular attention to cleanliness - the shared kitchen and living spaces were always spotless. This is a home in a lovely garden of trees & hammocks. It is not fancy or a 'professional' bnb - it's a showcase of hard work by a local family to turn what they have into a warm and authentic accommodation experience. V glad I stayed there.
