It can be a bit noisy early in the morning, when people prepare for tours, the house itself has not much soundproofing. Prepare for that.

Location is very good, not only for day time tourism but also for the evening and night, when you may sip a beer in front of the Teatro Amazonas and then just want to walk home. This is one of the areas where a lot of interesting things happen in the evening (markets, dances, etc.) staff speaks very good english and very concerned to help you with everything. Nice and clean.

The set up in the woman bathroom could be improved, its not functional. Charging guest for using the comune area before or after dtay is a bit cheap In my opinion and kicking them out at midnight when many flight are a 4/5am isn't really nice or safe. The kitchen could be a bit more stocked

The dorms in this hostel are quite nice, sturdy bunk beds. decent mattresses, and I especially liked the bathroom area. Also, the common area was quite enjoyable, spacious and equipped.

Staff - Marco was amazing and patient answering questions i had. He is very helpful. Ambience - the entire hostel vibe is amazing with all the graffiti and posters. Large and open sitting area, games, pool table. Good room, comfortable bunk bed and clean sheets. Neat and clean washrooms. Stable internet, kitchen with facilities to cook, and great paid breakfast. Options [paid] for bag storage and laundry services.

Window was not closing completely and it was so loud because of a party they had. Anniversary of the hostel. I had only a few hours until my flight from 01;00 in the night but exactly that hours were crucial for my sleep. People were noisy also inside the room always with the main light on. And a.c. did not work at all for a few minutes or hours I don't know the reason I just woke up all sweaty in the night.

No how shower. AC was on only in the night. The staff on the morning g shift was friendly and nice, but another one on the afternoon shift was not. I didn’t feel welcomed.

The shared bathrooms got dirty pretty quickly.

The hotel staff were super friendly and helped me with booking the next part of my trip when translations were difficult (shout out to the guy on reception in the afternoons especially!) The double room was comfortable for the price. The shared area was friendly and I liked that you could continue using it for a small fee when we came back from our jungle tour and needed a shower and place to relax for a few hours before our flight. Great location close to the main square (other reviews suggest it felt unsafe but I didn't feel this). Also reccomend the Tours through the hostel.

I particularly liked the common area downstairs, it made it easy to meet people, and bc breakfast was served there as well it was an easy way to approach someone to share a meal with. The staff was incredibly friendly: they helped me book a survival tour with Iguana Tours, answered all my questions and even helped me retrieve my shirt which I had lost to the hostel! They sent it after me once I left ☺️ I‘m particularly grateful for that, since the shirt is of high sentimental value for me

I stayed both in dorm and in private room, and in the private the wifi does not work so well. One more thing (since I am a solo female traveller) is that the hostel is located on a small side street and sometimes there were homelesses and stray dogs. Nothing bad ever happened, but since I was alone sometimes I didn't feel 100% safe.

I really enjoyed my stay at Local Hostel! The staff is great, very helpful and speaks good English (<3 Marco especially). The position is just 2 min walking from Teatro do Amazonas. Places are clean and breakfast is good :) Met a lot of nice new friends!

The female room didn't have a lock, and I felt a little unsure, but everything was fine. There are homeless men on the street where the hostel is located, so for a woman to walk around there, especially at night, it didn't seem very safe.

I stayed in the shared female room. The beds are comfortable and the bunk beds are stable. The curtains on the beds provide good privacy and the lockers for backpacks are quite spacious. The staff is very attentive and the breakfast is very good. It's worth including!

Very helpful and friendly staff. They made arrangements for our ferry tickets. We wanted a private room on the ferry and they sell out so we purchased 4 days in advance. They called a trusted person to get tickets and transport us. It was well worth the additional fee. We felt like we were in good trustworthy hands. We stayed in 2 rooms during 2 separate visits. They were both clean. We interacted with 3 staff members. They spoke great English and were fun and friendly. Breakfast was very good. This hostel is a very good choice!

Perfect place to stay for a visit to the Amazon. Staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, especially given we had check in and check out and weird times due to night flights ! Quick laundry service. Felt safe here as Manaus can feel a little sketchy!
