The only thing I didn’t like is I paid slightly extra for a nicer room, and the photos were misleading as online it looked like the room only had two-bed bunkbeds, when all the rooms actually had three-bed bunkbeds that were quite high. Otherwise, the place was amazing!

This hostel was so lovely inside and out. Juliana, who worked there, was SUCH a lovely person, she let me check in very early after I had an overnight flight, and she also organised an evening out for drinks with some other guests of the hostel. She was also very knowledgeable of São Paulo and gave me lots of ideas of things to do. The hostel was very clean and modern, and had a great kitchen facility.

It’s a really calm and comfy place! Nice kitchen to cook, private spaces in the beds with the curtains! The femenine room has a private bathroom.

Incredibly helpful and sweet staff! Especially Juli, who gave the best advice for Sao Paulo and went over and above to help plan my onward travel to Iguazu Falls/Argentina! Very chilled, and all the staff try to involve you in the evening board/card games! Great restaurants nearby...

The lockers in the room could be bigger to avoid so much having to be stored on the floor

The hostel was just as in the pictures, super clean and had a nice size kitchen with all the necessities for cooking (including oil & salt!). The staff were super helpful and spoke great English. There are plenty of bathrooms throughout the building so there was always a toilet and shower free.

The 3 English people in my dorm, impolite, disrespectful, speaking loudly and going in and out of the room 10 times at 4am but nothing to have with the hostel (I write it hoping they can read it 😂)

Best place in town. Staff incredible always helpful and makes you feel home. The place is clean. The kitchen is fully equipped. There’s a small coworker space. And it’s near everything. I would come back for sure !!

I felt really at home at lamparina! the hostel is designed in a very social way, i found it really easy to meet people. the staff is super lovely. it's a very familiar vibe but they'll let you know about parties in the neighborhood so its also a great place if you want to go out. the hostel itself is quiet at night. i would definetly go back! especially as a solo traveller. also everything was really clean.

Aline the owner was super nice and very helpful in planning our stay in São Paulo and even the rest of our trip. The hostel is very cute and clean, especially very nice bathrooms.

The bed might be a bit small if you're tall. If you're over 1.90m you might have to lay diagonally to sleep.

Nice and social hostel. Easy to meet new people. I had the six person dorm, which was nice and comfortable. Big closets to store your suitcase or backpack. Personal lockers. The kitchen is well equipped and is nice to prepare a meal in. They also have a room with two desks so you can work a little on your laptop.

Very clean, good Location like 5 min to the metro and good Food around. The voluntaries were super fun and very social. A big thanks to Mateus, Tainá, Daniel, Estefany, and Jess for making the time at Lamparina feeling like a flat share and like home and the lots of laughs. Everytime again. <3

Our room could have been cleaned a bit more thoroughly as there were some dust balls on the ground when we checked in.

Staff were super friendly and helpful with suggestions and getting around the city. Location was great, 10 min walk to the metro station, grocery store and restaurants nearby. On Sunday, there was even a small street market around the corner. Bathrooms were cleaned daily.

I wish I didn't have to wait outside in the early morning, even though I arrived during reception working hours. But the neighborhood seems safe enough + it was Christmas + the staff was really nice about it, so it all worked out in the end.

I was lucky enough to visit around Christmas, when the hostel wasn't too full, and when I had to wait outside the gate for about 40 minutes, the staff was really nice about it and offered to move me from a female dorm to a private room (it had 3 beds, but no one was staying there), as well as stay in the room past check-out time on Christmas Day, because my flight was late at night, all free of charge. It was a perfect place to end my trip, get some rest before a long journey back. There was a Sunday farmer's market right next to it, and the subway stop was very close as well. The kitchen is very well-equipped, which was a blessing after other hostels I stayed at during my time in Brazil. There was no AC in the room, only a ceiling fan, but I was extremely happy about that because ACs make me sick. All common spaces were very cozy. I loved everything about my stay at Lamparina!

The girls room was not good. The beds are really loud and wiggling with every movement.

The mixed dorm was fantastic! There are curtains at every bed, plugs and light and it really feels like a private place. Can totally recommend those. Staff in the hostels speaks no English but still is trying their best and is amazing!!
