Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

PortugalIt is a bit of a climb up to the property but that's part of the adventure!
Best hostel ive stayed at! Super friendly vibe, felt like a family immediately. Its small and only two rooms so easy to get to know everyone. I stayed in the bigger upstairs room, and got to wake up to a view of the sea every day! We had monkeys come to visit. And the pet bird was also super cute and would cuddle with you. Volunteers were super lovely, and made my stay so great! beautiful people!! And also super hardworking and cleaning 24/7.

IsraelThere's a bit of a hike to get to the hostel, so keep that in mind when packing. But it's worth it!
The place is insane! So beautiful views of Barra da Lagoa. The owner is very nice and we have nice conversations. Room was big and comfortable as well the toilets very clean. Big kitchen and many social areas. If you like to be in the nature I really recommend this place.

CanadaHostel do Morro was a fantastic place to stay. A distinct jungle treehouse feel with the best views I've seen in Florianopolis. Hostel staff made me feel very welcome, even though I don't speak Portuguese or Spanish. The hostel was very clean.

Netherlands- Could use new mosquitonets (they’re all quite holy and there’s just one fan so not very effective to keep them away) and matresses in the 12 bed dorm upstairs. - Very few plugs to charge your phone at night which are also kinda inaccessible if you’re sleeping in a top bunk. - Wanted to switch from a top bunk to one of the free bottom bunks in the same dorm after the first night with my sheets (as you have to make the bed yourself anyway) but that seemed impossible as it would mess up the ‘reservation system’ according to the volunteers I asked - When people are smoking (and a lot of people do) especially where the shoes are kept next to the kitchen it moves into the dorm upstairs so just be aware if you’re sensitive to that - Glad I didn’t have to walk the path to the hostel when it was raining and that I have a backpack and not a trolley :)
Very clean. Simple. Lovely views. Chill vibes. Pretty quiet. Nice people. Decent wifi.

United KingdomMore hammocks would go very well and it seemed like there was only one hot shower while I was there
Really great view, nice sofas and spot to chill at. Decent kitchen too which is important because all the food in town is deep fried it seems

NetherlandsI have a big suitcase, which was difficult to carry up the hill. Some of the roadsigns to the hostel need to be re-painted, they are somewhat weathered by the elements, the place can be difficult to find...
Livingroom experience in treehouse with a Brazilian host is quite unique. Nice views and an area to chill. 'Trilha' nearby to praia da galheta. Good atmosphere and kind host.

United KingdomLoved the nature and the people here! This was one of the most beautiful places I’ve stayed. Located right on top of the Morro, it offers stunning views and a peaceful connection to nature. The host, Bento, is an incredibly sweet and caring person who really makes you feel at home. During my stay, he even rescued a bird, and it became super friendly with everyone, it was such a heart-warming experience! The communal areas are fantastic, always clean, and well-maintained. There’s a real sense of respect among guests, and everyone contributes to making it a comfortable, harmonious space. The hostel strikes a perfect balance between being social and offering a relaxing environment, whether you’re looking to meet people or unwind, it works for both.

New ZealandThe dorm room i was in had very thin curtains so as soon as the sun was up the whole room was in daylight around 6am. The toilets often didn't have toilet paper, and we'd need to find one of the staff to refill
It was a really nice hostel that had a very friendly environment. Great location, out of the bustle of the city, but only 5 mins walk away from the town and two beaches.

BrazilI had to do my bed (put the sheets) almost by myself. I was expecting to have it all done, which is the usual, even in a hostel, but all good. Not a big problem!
It was very clean with an awesome view. The reception was good, and the people there were amazing! The sweet spot for me was the kitchen area, which was very clean and well-equipped, and the view to Praia da Barra, which was gorgeous!

Germany-
The Hostel is a bit tricky to reach if you have big luggage but the tiny hike upwards rewards you with the most beautiful view. The hostel is like a treehouse with a view of the sea! We literally woke up to feed little monkeys. The kitchen is well equipped and clean, as is the rest of the hostel. Also the staff is very friendly! :)

SpainCame for 2 days and stayed for one week. Absolutely gorgeous staff, location and owner. It's an old-school hippie hostel with good kitchen and wifi, super close to the shops and the beach but in the middle of nature. You need to go up a steep ramp for the last 100m but with a backpack that's seemed pretty easy to me. Can't wait to be back!

It is such an amazing place to find tranquility. The owners and the volunteers are always welcoming and helpful ! However, it is absolutely necessary to have mosquito repellent ! United KingdomGreat location. Beautiful. Basically a treehouse. Views of the sea. Feed monkeys in the morning. Good social areas. Mosquito nets provided (which were needed). Staff lovely. Kitchen small but well equipt. Really made our time great. Although massive and steep climb from where taxi can drop you off - Ubers can’t drop you off outside.
