Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaFor us, there is absolutely nothing we could find fault with.
The Bianca is sort of like a private museum (but a VERY comfortable one!) brought to life: a gorgeous colonial-era mansion perched on a Santa Teresa hilltop with balcony views with chairs, a hammock, and views looking out to the sea, offering spectacular sunrises/sets. The interiors of the home are colourful, with exceptional art on the walls and inviting seating areas to be enjoyed while light music by Ella Fitzgerald and other greats wafts through and out onto the patio, where a fresh and varied breakfast is served between 8 and 10 am daily. It’s a very quiet and safe location, too, with the bustling heart of the area just a few minutes’ walk away to shops & restaurants and a major tram stop. The home’s gardens are lush and colourful, alive with hummingbirds and other birds as well. Guido and Francisco were the most helpful and accommodating hosts and made our stay an absolute joy. We will be back and we’ve already told our friends, “You MUST come with us or stay here on your own trip to Rio!” What an absolute treasure the Bianca is, and all for a very reasonable price. This place is a real gem!

NetherlandsGuesthouse Bianca is a beautiful large house, decorated with style and love in the Bohemian arts area Santa Teresa. Guido and Fransico are great, taking care of you and giving you tips on Rio de Janeiro and even getting up in the middle of the night when you have to leave for the airport! The rooms and bathrooms are large and mine had a balcony overlooking the iconic view of Rio. I certainly will be coming back here!

United KingdomPerfect short stay in Rio. Our hosts were wonderfully welcoming, their house and gardens simply beautiful. Gorgeous breakfast set us up perfectly for a lovely walk around Santa Teresa, with stunning views from the look out at the park at the end of the street. I wished we could have stayed longer.

United KingdomUbers sometimes cancel. It's not the most popular with taxis because the guesthouse is located quite far up the hill. There weren't any supermarkets close by, the only options were to go to a restaurant to have lunch or dinner.
The guesthouse is situated in a nice area of Rio called Santa Teresa. Very close to the Selaron steps, Parque de la Ruinas (amazing place) and Lapa. The hosts, especially Guido made sure that I had everything, from organising an early breakfast to allowing to rest at the guesthouse after my flight (which was early in the morning) when I arrived before the check in time. I enjoyed having conversations with Guido about the events going on in Rio. The room was wonderful - spacious with a very big bathroom and bedroom area. Santa Teresa neighbourhood is quite artsy, there are local shops and restaurants within walking distance.

Guido is an exceptional host who goes out of his way to make his guests feel at home. His guesthouse is beautifully designed with tasteful decor and tile work throughout. The artsy neighborhood of Santa Teresa with its cobble streets and opulent mansions of times past has a unique vibe. We loved our stay!

AustriaThe owner and the whole staff are very friendly and the owner also gives a lot of advices and recommendations on what to do in Rio and also how you can get there. One can feel that a lot of love is put in the house to make it the comfiest it can get. We loved everything about the stay and would always again come here and enjoy this little paradise.

South AfricaThere is a steep climb back to the accommodation if you go anywhere. It is best to take an Uber or a taxi to get back to the accommodation after a day of sightseeing.
We absolutely loved the property, a tastefully decorated 1930's villa in Santa Teresa. It was luxurious and yet still homely. The owners live on the property and take good care of it. The garden was stunning and an excellent quality breakfast was served on the beautiful patio each morning surrounded by the lush garden. We had the room with a terrace and a view of the Sugarloaf mountain and the bay. Our host, Guido, was very friendly and helpful and made us feel at home right away, The location was excellent to visit the Seralon Steps and the city centre and to do the historic tram ride as it is in the heart of the quirky, arty and historic Santa Teresa district.

United KingdomWe had an amazing stay at Guesthouse Bianca. It is a short walk from the local bars and restaurants, the bedroom and en suite have all the space you could need and all for an affordable price, that helps you to pad out your budget. OK, it doesn't have a pool but you're most likely in Santa Teresa to see the local area rather than lounge around, in any case. I can't speak highly enough of our hosts, who also made us a wonderful breakfast each morning, and were extremely generous about our late checkout.

Lovely host who made us feel at home right away (also thanks to his sweet dog, Bianca!). Everything was very clean and comfortable. The place feels colourful and light thanks to the original features of the beautiful house, the unique stained glass windows, high ceilings and carefully chosen art pieces. Breakfast on the terrace each morning, surrounded by birdsong and flowers, was a little slice of paradise! The location is great in Santa Teresa, very safe and near to some beautiful view points and nice bars with live music on some nights of the week.
