Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesRoom was a little cramped, but we didn't stay too much time in it so not really an issue.
Location was great and very walkable to other places. Very easy to call an uber if you need to go further. Also, a simple but nice breakfast.

BrazilBefore criticising it, let me be clear: the place is worth staying.... but I HATED these problems. You lack privacy. The rooms have a single door/window, which is covered with blinds that are a bit too distant from the glass, which means people can look into your room. Worse yet, from the angle they'll look, their gaze will go straight to the bathroom area, meaning you can be spotted naked very, very easily. This was very, very uncomfortable to me. Another problem, but not so bad, but there could be some other floor cloth there. I accidentally let bath water spill out, and I had no idea how to dry the floor; the room became a marine field.
Cosy, safe, with good supplies.

United KingdomNot sure about the concrete floor and the shower in the corner of the room but was fine and there was everything needed
The location was absolutely brilliant, bang in the middle of Vila Magdalena, 10-15 min walk to Batman alley, loads of great restaurants and coffee shops, and just down the road from a weekend bric a brac and souvenir market. Also lovely and clean and great courtyard

United KingdomReception staff were not around, I arrived at 7.30 am off my flight and struggled to get into the building even after them agreeing to let me keep my bags ahead of time. All was resolved within 30 minutes (didn’t impact my stay)
The garden was lovely, felt like a quiet retreat. Would recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to relax in the busy city of São Paulo. Also near some great bars and coffee shops, close to the nightlife of villa Madalena but away enough to relax ✨

South AfricaNothing.
A small cozy place to stay that felt inviting and was close to many of the places that we wanted to visit. The breakfast was lovely and the staff friendly. The room was clean and the eating area so beautiful with plants and a lovely seating area outside.

NetherlandsThe shower is in the bedroom wich can make it humid, so need to put the air-conditioning on. It's also a bit small since there is no wardrobe for clothes. Only suitable for couples, since there's not much privacy in the room.
The room was clean, good bed and a good shower. Better than any bed or shower I had before in Brazil.

SwitzerlandThe noise isolation is bad, we can hear people walking the stairs like they were in our room.
The location is great, as it's right in Pinheiros and close to many restaurants and bars, doable walking even by night.

PanamaRoom was very small, no desk for one to work in and just a couple of hangers to hang one’s clothes on wall hooks.
Excellent location and cozy atmosphere. Very nice staff. The place is more like a guest house than a hotel. Breakfast was simple but good quality.

United StatesThis hotel is in a great location. The rooms weren't large, but they were clean. As the name implies, they have an industrial motif to the rooms. If you don't like that, then don't book a room here. Beds were very comfortable. Common areas were great (especially the outdoor areas. Breakfast was perfect. We would definitely recommend to others.

BrazilThe hotel hosted a party on Saturday night. It did not seem to be for hotel guests. The party was right outside my bedroom window (although, based on the arrangmenet of the hotel, I think it was right outside most guests' bedroom windows). The music was so loud that the room was vibrating. I had hoped to spend a quiet night before my early flight the next day, but I could not sleep, read, or watch tv, due to the loud music. To their credit, the party did end fairly early, but it was not the relaxing night I had hoped for.
The location is great, and the hotel is really clean.

United KingdomI didn't seem to have a choice of breakfast - I was asked to order when I arrived and there seemed to be no opportunity to vary it. The fruit, eggs and coffee were good but I didn't enjoy the toasted sandwich. Also I didn't realise until late in my stay that when there was no one on reception and I needed help or advice that I could Whatsapp. It would have been great if this could have been explained as I felt a tad abandoned at times. Furthermore, as there are coffee making facilities in the lovely TV room it would have been great to have coffee/tea supplied. Finally I would suggest that you provide more coat hangers in the room. There was only one in mine and at least 6 would be great, particularly as the room can accommodate a couple, though you would be very tight for space with more than one person in the room.
I loved the location, the common areas, especially the back and front terraces with the beautiful planting and the general design of the hotel, plus the staff when they were there. The area felt relatively safe and was full of bars and restaurants and not far from anywhere. You can walk to such places such as Batman Alley.
