Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

SwedenThe staff were a bit rude. I had a flight later that day, they allowed me to store my bag pack temporarily there after I checked out but I can see they were not really feeling happy about it. They also charge 50 Reals to take even quick shower after checkout.
Location is good, close to Leme beach, reasonable price, easy checkin.

It's well located at the entrance of a Community neighbourhood. It was my first time. Great experience. As a recommendation it would be great if there is someone young and traveler helping with the reception.

AustraliaDo not stay here. In my 4 days staying here over new years, I found there to be frequent blackouts, water outages, poor cellular reception amongst other issues. The rooms were dirty, had rat poo on the floor when we first arrived. The staff treated our room like it was their own, opening the doors without knocking and entering the rooms without saying a word to us. There was big privacy concerns staying here alongside major cleanliness issues. All of the cupboards and drawers were broken and the shower only had a cold tap. Amongst all these issues, the biggest was the huge climb to the hostels entrance from Copacabana beach. Despite looking close on a map, Le House Hostel is a big uphill walk from the beach, with a constant stream of fast moving traffic up the single road to the hostel. I was almost run over a handful of times because of the poor location.

United KingdomThe male staff member was very rude and aggressive, charged me twice, then gave me some dirty blankets covered in blood, semen and faeces! The room I was put in had leaks and to top it off the bed had bed bugs and was covered in bites! Avoid this place at all costs!

United StatesStaying at this hotel in Praia do Leme, Rio de Janeiro was an absolute delight! The location couldn't be better, right by the beach with stunning views of the ocean. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making sure our every need was met throughout our stay. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, providing a perfect retreat after a day of exploring the city.

IndiaEverything else is average. Despite Rio being a hot city, no ventilation provided in the room - not even a fan. Flush wasn't working properly, the soap wasn't refilled - despite complaining this wasn't fixed for 2-3 days (only after more people arrived in the hostel and complained I guess)
Location is the best part - close to Copacabana beach, and other amenities such as supermarkets, cafes, bars. Easy access to metro and bus stops.
