We stayed at Castelo dos Tucanos for 24 nights, and it was absolutely incredible. The location in Santa Teresa is just spectacular – peaceful, charming, and full of character, yet still close enough to explore everything Rio has to offer. The included breakfast was delicious every single morning, with fresh and tasty options that made it a perfect start to the day. The atmosphere at the hostel is warm and welcoming, and you can really feel the love and care the hosts put into the place. Staying here felt more like being at a friend’s beautiful home than at a regular hostel. The views, the surroundings, and the overall vibe made our time here unforgettable. We would come back in a heartbeat!

I received a warm welcome and was impressed by the castle's beauty! Every room is very clean, and my bed has curtains, a fan, and a nice lamp. There are plenty of leisure options, including a large pool, an incredible breakfast, and a barbecue on Sundays. I highly recommend this stay, as it's very close to downtown and offers easy access to Rio de Janeiro's beautiful beaches

I loved my stay at Castelo dos Tucanos. The views are honestly insane – you can see Christ the Redeemer right from the pool and terrace. The place feels like a jungle castle, with tucans, monkeys, and birds hanging out in the garden, which made it feel magical. The staff were super friendly and made me feel so welcome, and I met so many amazing people there. The breakfast was really good with lots of options, and I loved chilling by the pool after exploring Rio. The location in Santa Teresa is perfect too – close to cute cafes and street art, and it feels like the real Rio. Overall, it wasn’t just a place to sleep, it felt like an experience I’ll never forget too.

Such an incredible place to stay! The house itself was beautiful and very well kept. The private room that we booked was away from the main part of the house which was great for a couple like us that wanted our own space at the end of the day. Everyone was so friendly and made us feel really welcome. The included breakfast was very generous. Definitely recommend!

Breakfast is great. Everyone working there was very friendly and helpful. There's a lot of common areas so it's easy to socialize or chill. There's a coworking space and gym weights which is helpful. It's my favorite hostel in Rio (and I've been to over 5). Location is very safe during the day, but you need to take an Uber to go to the beach, which was fine by me but not might be for others.

The best hostel experience ever! Nice and clean house, friendly staff, good breakfast and excellent location with the view. The hostel provides a place to work as well. Highly recommended, especially if you are in Rio for the first time. You will definitely enjoy the area where the house is situated.

The hostel is literally an old castle, i feels you are going back in time! The views from the room and the garden are insane! All the stuff super nice and helpful and the best of everything is the location, super safe and walking distance (3 minutes) to one of the most local and beautiful areas in rio (Santa Teresa) full of bars and restaurants and local vibe
