Not a dislike, but travellers should be aware that the showers are cold water (not an issue in this climate), and you should bring your own toiletries

Wonderful experience staying with Peter. He is an exceptional host, a terrific breakfast cook and a really great human being. We loved the laid back and relaxed vibe, the simple but thoughtful design of Casa Aquamarina, but most of all being introduced to Atins by someone who is so passionate, knowledgeable and positive.

I liked everything about my stay and about my hosts. The walk to the beach in mid-day heat can be a bit laborious schlepping kite-surf gear, however the host was helpful in arranging a car to help get us to and from the beach on one occasion, and I rented an ATV.

The host and the staff were absolutely wonderful, friendly, and fun-spirited. The Pousada is charming eco-architecture construction surrounded with gardens, and has very comfortable beds. I very much enjoyed my stay here, and would again for my next stay in Atins.

A bit shocking when you arrive as it is not particularly clean - wet floor, no soap, budgety sheets, one towel, etc. maybe it is because I booked last minute and it was cleaned last minute. Giving it the benefit of doubt but if you like CLEAN CLEAN this is not your choice. If you like backpackery and vibey with a nice owner yes.

You grow into liking the place and atmosphere. The owner is very kind.

Peter's place is beautifully designed and very comfortable. It's very close to the centre of Atins. The breakfast was amazing and the chats were great! Would definitely recommend!

I loved this place so much… Peter was so nice, the garden is so beautiful and peaceful. The rooms and bathroom have just what you need and the whole place is really quiet. I was always welcomed with a coffee and a piece of cake. I just wish I could have stayed more !! Thank you !

Very friendly and committed people to help. Peter always very supportive and kind. It is not a fancy place but brings all you need to experience about nature, rusticity and atmosphere of Atins. A little confusion about updating the booking (not property's fault) was locally discussed and resolved.

I stayed in Casa Acquamarina for 3 nights with my girlfriend and we loved everything! Starting with our host Peter! He's such a heartwarming presence. Always a good company, and has some great tips on what to do in Atins. He also goes out of his way to keep his pousada respectful of surrounding nature, and cooks incredible breakfast every day. Made mostly with homegrown products! The room itself was simple and confortable, everything we were hoping for. Thank you Peter, and hope to see you again. Be it in Atins or elsewhere :)

What we appreciated most is the philosophy of the owner who did not build a cash-machine (as there are regrettably several in Atins), but decided to respect his environment and the "root" spirit of the village. No clim, no swimming pool but he did this without compromising confort and you feel very comfortable there. The breakfast which is partly done with products of the garden is clearly the best we had in our stay in Brazil. Hope this pousada will continue long !

I did a private tour to the Lençóis Maranhenses park with a guide (Luis Tour Atins) recommended by the Pousada. The guide was nice enough and knew the park very well. However, we originally agreed on a price for a private tour, but when two other people joined (which I didn't mind), he became greedy and kept insisting on the same (high) price as for the original private tour, while charging the other two people a much lower price. This is just unfair and rude. Only after having a difficult discussion with him did he agree to charge me the same as the other two. Also, Luis doesn't speak a word of English or Spanish, only Portuguese.

The Pousada is really lovely. The owner, Peter, and his staff are very welcoming. The shared spaces such as the breakfast area and hammocks are awesome.

Casa Acquamarina was really a little piece of paradise - it is very cute and clean and it has the most amazing breakfast - the best one of our whole stay in Brazil ! It is difficult to talk about Acquamarina without mentioning its owner, Peter, who is so kind, enthousiastic and passionate about his place that he makes you feel like home. One regret - to not have spent more time there!
