Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesWish we could have done more unguided activities, but safety is an issue with big wild animals in the area.
Beautiful spot with lots of birds and animals. The staff are super helpful and the food was great!

Fabulous place to stay. Excellent communication from start to finish, staff here are some of the best I’ve ever encountered, more than helpful, guides are very knowledgeable and there is a warmth and kindness seldom experienced. Room was lovely with huge comfy bed and excellent shower. The safaris, canoe, trail and dusk motor were extremely good and we saw jaguars, giant otter, hyacinth and blue gold macaw, howler monkeys, coatis etc etc. The environs are excellent and it has been a wonderful place to spend four nights of our life. The food is very good indeed, with real care taken over its cooking and presentation.

United KingdomPantanal is an expensive wildlife location when compared to South-Africa for example and very expensive when compared to the rest of Brazil. The wildlife is also much scarcer than in African lodges. But it’s an exceptional place to observe jaguars which you can track for hours in the right season. This is truly unique. As long as you know that then go...it’s once in a lifetime experience.
Great location, guides were passionate, knowledgeable and professional. The rooms were spacious, very clean and nicely decorated. The food was good and varied. The grounds nice and well kept. The jaguar sighting is unique.

GermanyEveryone was very nice, helpful, connected with the nature and sympathetic. They offered many different tours, so the night tour-which was very interesting and great. As well the Kanu-tour was wonderful. Watching all the birds was amazing and the personal knew and could explain all of them. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were always very fresh and tasty. A super stay-thank you! Manu and Alain

United KingdomIt was all great. Very minor point would be to clean the pool more often as the water was quite cloudy when we arrived so didn't use the pool until later in our stay when it was cleaner (this wasn't a big deal for us-it was more comfortable to rest inside during the hottest hours anyway!)
Caio and Bene the guides were so knowledgeable and enthusiastic and really made our time at Aymara special! We loved getting to do canoe, walking and bike safaris, day and night safari drives (some at extra cost but good value!) and we saw such a diversity of wildlife. The jaguar expedition to Porto Joffre is not to be missed-truly a life changing experience to see a jaguar in the wild and, whilst it was a long day and additional cost, was so well organised and very worth it. The lodge itself is great with fantastic food, friendly and helpful staff, and comfortable and cool rooms (with air con which is very necessary in the Pantanal!). You feel very close to nature the whole time but are also in comfort. As an aside, it was very useful to be able to buy a wildlife guidebook and long sleeved top at the lodge. Staying at Aymara was the perfect way to see the wonders of the northern Pantanal-I highly recommend.

United KingdomIt was fairly expensive. The safari no longer goes on the Pantaneira, so limited animal viewings.
Lovely rooms and comfortable bed. We stayed 3 nights and saw lots of birds, in particular a family of Hyacinth Macaws in the tree on the grounds of the lodge. There were also monkeys in the trees. The pool was great in the heat, but we did need insect repellent when we got out! The staff were all very attentive, the guides were all trained biologists and very knowledgeable. The food was excellent, probably the best we had in Brazil overall. A great stay.

AustraliaOur June visit coincided with unusually cold weather for that time of year and therefore the wildlife was quieter than you would expect. That said we saw plenty during our four days with Pablo and Bene being our excellent guides during that time. The Lodge is beautifully set in bushland and a nearby waterway on which we enjoyed a couple of kayak excursions. The birdlife was plentiful and varied including the resident hyacinth macaws - a very entertaining trio. Plenty of monkey sightings too. Loved our stay!

United KingdomWe were at the lodge at the end of April which is apparently the worst time for mosquitoes. Make sure you bring repellent and clothes to cover up if you plan on visiting during this time.
We had a lovely time at Aymara Lodge. The guides (Pablo and Caio) were so friendly and welcoming. They were incredibly knowledgeable about the region and it’s wildlife and their enthusiasm made our time at the lodge really enjoyable. The food was nice and there was something for everyone, the service staff were lovely as well. The rooms were spacious and clean, and the location was really beautiful. Everything ran smoothly and overall we had a great time.

We saw many birds and animals and our guide was so knowledgeable and had a deep love and understanding of his environment. Wha memorable experience for anyone who loves nature.
