Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaRoom was very dark and we could open window but there was no fly screen so tended not to.
Location good by the beach, at first you seem a bit away from the main bit of Atins, but the bars and restaurants on the beach are so so good, and honestly its just better. Place is amazingly set up feeling like an oasis. Staff are so great and responive, especially Charles. Also loved the cats and dogs around they are all very cute.

SwitzerlandThe room is simple, no mosquito net at windows, no space nor furniture to place anything especially in the bathroom where a space to put 1-2 hygienic bags would be nice.
Very nice location with simple rooms and great breakfast.

United KingdomSince there was no daily room cleaning, it would have been helpful to have a broom in the room to sweep the sand and leaves that blow under the door. Also, it would have been nice to be able to borrow beach towels, even paying a deposit.
Charles and the rest of the staff were excellent and the location was perfect.

We had a great time at Atins beach! It’s perfectly located just next to the beach. Staff was so dedicated and went above expectations! They supported us for tour, transportation and found solutions when we had issues for the rest of the trip. The breakfast was amazing! Lots of choices and the best we had so far in Brazil.

BelgiumIt doesn’t have air conditioning but the fans work very well. Kitchen equipment is very basic. It would be good to have something to prepare coffee.
First of all, the staff. Suzana, Alessandro e Marco were extremely kind and helpful. Even after we checked out they kept helping with transport. Best people. The best reason to come to Brazil! The property is in the beach, very comfortable and clean, very close to one of the best reataurants and pizzeria "Maresía".

United KingdomBecause of the sand and the showers, the house was always dirty and didn’t look nice. Plus was difficult not to bring sand into the bed. They should put something to clean the feet in the door. I never asked for it, probably they would have given in to me

BelgiumOverall quite disappointed by this pousada. We stayed in another one before, that was 50% cheaper but we loved much more. At Atins beach house we had many things that disappointed us: there was no charm at all in the decoration of the rooms nor the garden (almost no flowers). The rooms are really super basic for the price we paid: our double room had a door that didn’t close properly so the moskito’s could come in easily at night. The room had a loud compressor right next to it making it impossible to sleep without ear plugs. The common areas were filled with construction materials and in the middle of what should be a charming garden for breakfast there is a technical storage room full of dirt and old garbage stuff. The supposedly quiet area with hammocks to chill is also very noisy with quads driving around before taking off for some tours. Breakfast was quite ok but as there are a lot of guests, very quickly runs out of some elements and they don’t refill. Our 4 kids slept in a small house completely separated from the rest of the hotel and the access is not at all lightened at night: complete dark to go there.
The fact it is located very near to the beach

Brazil(-) The tap water is very problematic and dirty, with a yellowish color. We had to cook and brush our teeth with bottled water due to a brief episode of illness. Suggestion: invest in a 3M water filter, which is affordable and would better meet the guests' expectations, given the cost of the stay. (-) Although the house has a nice aesthetic, there are open gaps between the walls and the roof, which allow dirt to enter easily. Sand and dust constantly accumulate indoors. Furthermore, the cleaning service is very lacking: upon arrival, the kitchen was quite dirty, and during a 10-day stay, cleaning was done superficially only twice. (-) The outdoor area is poorly maintained. There is no effort in landscaping, and several areas have construction debris (as shown in the photos). This is unfortunate, considering the place's paradisiacal potential. (-) The service is disappointing. Susana, the main manager, is very dedicated and hardworking. However, the kitchen staff are extremely unfriendly, even speaking rudely to guests. Their attitude clearly shows they are not suited for the hospitality industry, as any request seems to bother them. The daily rate is high, but the cost-benefit ratio is low. For R$ 500 per night, expectations are high, and this guesthouse falls far short of the expected standard. I do not recommend it, especially considering the price charged.
(+) Perfect location, right in the heart of Atins and facing the sea. This is undoubtedly a huge advantage for enjoying the region's activities. (+) The breakfast is very complete, with fresh fruits and great options of recipes prepared on the spot (and truly delicious).

SwitzerlandAtins is a special place. Everything is built on sand. The picture of the pousada look nicer on booking than in reality. The place is called Atins Beach Houses / although there is only 2 Beach Houses, One complex with rooms - some still under constuction (July 2024) - and the Chalet / a wooden baracca with about 6 very simple Rooms. It happend that I booked the Chalet instead of the Beach House. It was my own fault, but the Chalet reminded me of my time in the Army when we slept in wooden baracas. The place is nicely located near the water. The area of the pousada would need more maintenace, it was too layed back for my personal taste. I have expected more through the pictures in Booking. Anyway - we had a nice time, since we are not fussy people. Xuxu very nice. Thank you. Trips to the park great. Moto Taxi to town also. For couples on romantic holidays - there is better places in town.

United StatesFor not fault of their own, the hotel uses well water which tends to run on the yellow side. It's pristinely clean, but visually a little unpleasant.
Atins Beach House is a small, friendly hotel with comfortable, simple, spacious rooms. They foster a peaceful, chill vibe which made our stay very restful and relaxing. Breakfast is generous and excellent buffet, plus la carte eggs and tapioca options. The staff is very friendly and attentive. We checked out at dawn and the staff kindly made us to-go breakfast sandwiches so we wouldn't travel hungry!
