How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Nothing, everything was great. We wish we could have stayed longer!
We LOVED this place! We want to give a special shout out to the girls at the reception! They were so so friendly and nice when we arrived super early. They also stored our luggage when we went to Uyuni for a couple of days. They generally did everything to make us feel welcome and comfortable! ❤️ The beds are very comfortable, the shower is amazing, the breakfast is delicious, its quiet and in a very safe neighborhood. We would give this hotel 100 stars if we could. Great job guys 👏👏👏

El Museo is a great place to stay and the staff are very helpful and kind. We were able to leave our luggage here when we went for trips. Breakfast is good with fresh fruit, cereal, toast,eggs, meats etc. You can help yourself to teas/water all day. Nice location. We felt very comfortable and safe here

Nice staff. Fairly central. Great room heater. Provided a plastic bag to take some breakfast away when I left early in the morning.

Everything was perfect. We stayed here on multiple occasions as we did tours from la Paz and the staff was so accommodating, we were able to leave our luggage in storage with them, which was great. Breakfast is excellent, lots of choice and the hotel is in a safe area, 20-25 mins walk from the centre.

Excellent customer service. The receptionists were very helpful and provided us with directions and recommendations. Check in and checkout times are very generous. They provide very cheap laundry service as well. Highly recommend.

Beautiful room, excellent breakfast and superb staff. The shower was hot and Wi-Fi was strong through out the hotel. The staff helped me to book taxis and provided lots of useful information.

The hotel is located up a steep hill in a quiet neighborhood close to shops and restaurants. It was a 30 minute walk to the center of the city. The room was comfortable with a hot shower. Breakfast was plentiful. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.

The location is a bit hard to find the first time.

It was all good!
The building was really unusual, a properly refurbished old colonial building. Big old doors & staircase. The room was very big and stylish too.

The rooms were not really sound proof! We stayed there two separate times and the first time the room was by the reception and breakfast area so it was quite loud.
The hotel staff were very kind and helpful! They helped us with organising a few activities in La Paz, our transfers from and to the airport, washing our clothes and keeping our bags for a few days!

The room was good sized and looked just as good as the best images on Booking. But the best aspect of our stay was the incredible staff. They, were able to provide a quick turnaround on laundry, even on Sunday, they provided box breakfasts two mornings because we had start times before the scheduled breakfast and everything was done with a smile. The only downside is that the location is a little away from the central tourist services, but we only had trouble getting a taxi to the hotel on one occasion. Highly recommend.

The WiFi could be stronger in the room but apart from that it was a perfect stay
Beautiful unique hotel in quiet area but close to everything. Staff were so helpful and accommodating and we were able to check in early which was a life saver after a night bus! Lives up to its name with interesting museum exhibition inside the common area. Excellent breakfast too

Honestly a standout hotel - best I've stayed in in a looooong time. The staff are so so friendly and will go out of their way to help you. I was fortunate enough to be able to check-in at 6am when my bus arrived, and they allowed us to get breakfast and coffee as well that morning even though we weren't due to check-in until 1pm (not saying they will always be able to do this, depending on availability, but it was so nice of them). They gave us loads of advice of things to do in the area, how best to get to places, and we're on hand for any questions. They also let us borrow a gondola pass to save us having to buy tickets for the gondolas. The rooms felt quite luxurious, and the breakfast had something for everyone. Free tea, coffee, coca tea and water 24/7. After coming back from death road, our shoes were soaking wet, so they put the fire on for us and let us dry our shoes out by the fire overnight. Upon checkout, they organised a very well priced taxi for us to the airport. Honestly, they couldn't have done more for us. The best staff, the best hotel, and a super nice building with all the old museum stuff kept in tact on the walls. 10/10, would actually come back to La Paz just to stay here!

Only one very small complaint: We stayed in 3 different rooms (since we stayed over different dates in the hotel). The beds in 2 out of the 3 rooms were not good, pretty uncomfortable. The mattresses should be renewed.
The hotel is in good walking distance to the city center and most of the "must see" places. A quiet area, we felt safe there when walking home even in the night. The staff is amazing and so very sweet and friendly - they were helpful at any time (e.g. early or lat check in). They prepared us breakfast bags when we left the hotel early for a tour. The breakfast was very good with fresh fruit, bread, cheese and freshly made eggs.
